Today, (August 23, 2012) Boston Market made a $10,000 to the Ryan Sheckler Foundation at their “restaurant” in North Arlington, New Jersey. Ryan was there to accept the check and to sign autographs.
“Ryan’s dedication to his charity and his passion for Boston Market made him the ideal host for today’s event,” said George Michel, CEO of Boston Market. “Not only is he a legend in the skateboarding world, but he has found the time to give back to those in need as well. Boston Market is proud to support Ryan’s organization and offer quality food with great service to our guests.”

On Saturday, May 5, 2012 skateboarders, sponsors, and hundreds of fans joined Ryan Sheckler and the Sheckler Foundation at the etnies Skatepark for Skate For A Cause. The event, held to help raise money for A.skate, collected $86,000 in total, $57,000 of which will fund A.skate’s 10-stop Be the Change tour this summer. It was a great day of skateboarding, friends, and doing something good for kids on the Autism spectrum.

The Fred Water Legends Bowl Contest will have an ordered jam session format in the Shark Bowl. It is a black backyard style amoeba pool with a four-and-a-half foot deep shallow end, six foot deep pockets and a nine-and-a-half foot deep end. It’ll be amazing to see the legends dominate the bowl’s death boxes, shallow-end stairs and Tedderstone pool coping. . . All of the day’s events give skateboarders, sponsors and the community a chance to have fun while giving back to raise funds for A.skate. The A.skate Foundation is a non-profit that allows kids with autism to be a part of the social world through skateboarding. They hold clinics for kids with autism at no cost to the families, give grants to kids with autism for skateboard gear, as well as promote awareness and education.

In the classic story of celebrity wackness, TMZ is reporting that Ryan Sheckler filed a police report on February 27, 2012 accusing friend Stacy Salazar (a women he was planning on “spending the night with” at the Las Vegas Palms Hotel) of running off with $100,000 of his jewels.
Ryan claims he fell asleep but was awakened by the sound of his door closing. He then noticed Stacy was no longer in his room. A few hours later he noticed his jewelry was missing — a Rolex watch valued at $12,500, a gold/diamond bracelet worth $14,975, a diamond and white gold ring ($63,275) and a diamond necklace of unknown value. . . Ryan called the cops, who took a report.
Salazar told police that she was being set up by one of Sheckler’s “childhood friends,” according to the story. Police arrested her anyway. Oddly, we thought two things: why roll with that much bling? And, isn’t Sheckles on the Nixon team? Oh, and girls looking to rip off more of his stuff should check out a profile of his house in the New York Times.

Ryan Sheckler seems like the wrong person to be representing a debit card called “BillMyParents.” Wouldn’t it be more fitting for his parents to promote a card called “BillMyKid?”
Seems like Ryan Sheckler has lived a few more than 21 years when we add up all his past escapades. So if anyone deserves a full blowout Las Vegas 21st Birthday party it’s Sheckles. Tonight at 11 PM the festivities kick off at Moon Nightclub in the Palms Hotel. For those not familiar Moon goes a little like this:

Ryan Sheckler invited close to 50 kids with autism to his private TF on Saturday November 13, 2010 in a skate demo collaboration between the Sheckler Foundation and A.Skate as a part of TACA’s Ante Up For Autism weekend, according to a story in the OC Register.
Crys Worley, a 28-year-old mother of two, founded nonprofit A.skate a few years ago after getting her 7-year-old to try skateboarding. Her fiancé owns a skateboard shop, and the first time they took her son Sasha to a skate park, they noticed he seemed more relaxed. . . A.skate operates on the idea that the repetitive motions of skateboarding help calm symptoms of autism. The organization’s events are free for the participants and their families and are supported by fundraisers.
Ryan was joined by members of the skate community including Skaterboarder Magazine editor Jaime Owens (pictured right helping Sam Tobin, 8, of San Diego get rolling). Sounds like a great way to spend a saturday helping the kids.
Ryan Sheckler’s truck (but maybe not Ryan) was involved in an “intense midnight” shootout on Friday night, according to TMZ.
According to Orange County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a call about a traffic collision late Friday night involving a possible drunk driver — but when they showed up, we’re told, the driver motored it away from the scene. . . Law enforcement sources tell us … officers chased the driver down and cornered him on a dead end street — the driver panicked, pulled a U-turn, and gunned it in the cops’ direction … at which point, we’re told, sheriff’s deputies drew their weapons and shot at the truck. . . We’re told the driver — who turned out to be an unidentified minor — wasn’t hit … and gave up immediately after the deputies shot their weapons.
TMZ says the truck was later reported stolen by Sheckler. Hmm. . .

Last night (March 27, 2010), Nickelodeon held their 2010 Kids Choice Awards. Both Shaun White and Ryan Sheckler were up for Favorite Male Athlete in a list that included basketball greats Kobe Bryant and Lebron James.
Shaun White (who looked remarkably unexhausted) may have presented an award to Taylor Lautner, but he didn’t win. Apparently, the little girls still understand and Ryan rolled away with the win. Had this been the Cougars Choice Awards, there likely would have been a different, more tomatoey, winner.
