Jack Freestone Lands Nixon Global Spot

Jack Freestone has joined Nixon’s global surf team. He’s been wearing the watches for a while, so this is really a promotion.

“It’s exciting to have Jack officially represent Nixon front-and-center,” said Nixon Marketing Manager, Michel Murciano. “He is a part of a new generation in professional surfing and has the ability, smarts and style to take Nixon to a new level.”

Nixon Sets Up Shop In NYC

Nixon announced today (December 17, 2015) the opening of their first New York City retail location on Prince St., right in the heart of Soho.

Built with award-winning design features, the SoHo location will bring to life the brand’s action sports heritage. The store will showcase Nixon’s signature watch table: featuring open-merchandising of watches in the shape of an undulating wave. The watch table invites consumers to try on and experience product first hand. Anchoring the store is Nixon’s customization bar, which allows customers the opportunity to create one-of-a-kind watches. The new space will also give Nixon the opportunity to spotlight its limited-edition offerings, including its new automatic, Swiss-made RSVP collection.

Nixon SoHo is located at 122 Prince Street, between Wooster and Greene Street, and is open daily from 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday – Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays. The shop can be reached at 917.262.0560.

Curren Caples Cool Enough For Nixon

All around transition wizard Curren Caples has been “voted” on to Nixon’s global gang of wrist jewelry wearers.

“Curren brings a refreshing style to going big and he makes the hardest tricks look easy,” said Tony Hawk. “I’m honored to be on the same team as him.” . . . Curren’s devotion to skateboarding began when he was very young with him earning a spot onto the legendary Flip Skateboards team at the age of 13 and then turning pro two years ago. An impressive transitional skater, Curren’s style is heavily influenced by his formative years growing up in the coastal community of Ventura, CA and his time spent surfing.

Nixon Opens Hong Kong & Sydney Stores

Nixon is continuing its global retail expansion with stores in Hong Kong and Sydney.

Located in the popular shopping district of LCX on the 3rd floor of Ocean Terminal in Hong Kong and a newly opened Westfield in Sydney’s southside, both new storefronts feature Nixon’s recently introduced Horizon marketing concept. As seen in the newly opened Nixon Paris and Nixon Carnaby locations, the horizon line is a subtle nod to the diverse environments of surfing, snowboarding and skateboarding found within the Nixon landscape. Nixon + Boarding For Breast Cancer

A longtime partner of Nixon, B4BC is a non-profit dedicated to providing breast cancer education and support programs for young people and the action sports community at large. Through grassroots events and the Survivorship Fund, B4BC is able to further its mission of promoting early detection and a healthy, active lifestyle as the best means of breast cancer prevention. . . . A cause close to Nixon, B4BC was co-founded by Nixon original snow team riders Shannon Dunn and Tina Basich. Current Nixon team riders, including Elena Hight, Hana Beaman, Mimi Knoop and others, continue to advocate on behalf of B4BC.

The watch features a Miyota quarts 3 hand movement and a tapered 5 link stainless steel bracelet with locking clasp. Nixon European Retail Stores On Horizon

Nixon is following in the footsteps of other luxury brands by taking their products directly to the customers with two new European brand stores. Today, (September 4, 2014) Nixon opened a store in Paris’ le Marais district. And in October they will open a store in London as well.

These new locations premiere Nixon’s Horizon marketing concept. The horizon line is a reference to a common thread, which runs through the Nixon landscape—oceans, mountains, concrete jungles. A subtle nod to the diverse environments of surfing, snowboarding and skateboarding, the horizon line is more of an ownable design point of view than a literal interpretation. It becomes the canvas for the Nixon story, allowing us to showcase our perspective and products in a bold, distinct way.
