Brixton Rebel Motorcycle Club Party

by The Editors on November 2, 2010

Brixton Dues

Brixton will be celebrating the release of the Brixton x Deus Motorcycles collaboration Thursday, November 11th, Thalia Surf Shop in Laguna Beach, California.

The night will kick off at 7pm here at the shop for giveaways, raffles, and vintage bikes on display along with all of the Brixton x Deus hats and apparel. At 9pm we’ll then be moving the party down the street to Laguna’s oldest bar in town, The Marine Room [21+], where we’ll be hosting the rest of the night with live music by Becky Lee & Drunkfoot, Yuma Territorial Prison Guard, and Thalia Surf’s own DJ Burnout.

Retro fashion greasers rejoice.

Buy Yourself A Brixton Little Christmas

by The Editors on November 13, 2008

ImageIf it’s limited edition it must be good, right? So when Brixton rolls out some small-run, holiday colorways of the Melton Wool Fiddler, Corduroy Stroll, and the Heist Beanie it’s rockin’ good news.

We’ve still never worn any Brixton product, but we know some people who do and they are cooler than shit.

Brixton Clamps Down On Jackets

by The Editors on August 13, 2008

Jackets List 01We knew it wouldn’t be just hats and accessories very long at Brixton. Now, the company is branching out into a “limited collection of timeless jackets and flannels.”

The Clampdown is a classic worker’s jacket altered for a slimmer fit. A quilted nylon interior accents the heavyweight cotton and is available in black and grey herringbone twill. The Debaser is a military jacket tapered for a modern fit. It is available in a heavyweight black canvas and grey herringbone twill. The third addition, the Cedar, is a classic flannel with a contemporary cut and detail.

This thing has “back to school” written all over it.

Post Olympic News Lister Time

by The Editors on February 14, 2022

It’s newsies time. Obviously, this list is overloaded with Olympic content since that’s what snowboarding is up to right now. And Shaun White is the biggest news from Chinaland. Shaun, and the terrible judging. But, oddly, few outlets wrote about that. Censorship? Probably not, but you know the journalists who are visiting China and hope to stay and/or return to the country don’t want to upset the PRC media watchers. Click the link for the list. And get going. This is enough to make it look like you’re working for the rest of the afternoon!

The Happy New 2022 News Lister

by The Editors on January 3, 2022

It’s a New Year. Time to bury those old habits, get out the list, and start working toward the new you in 2022. Or, just grab another Indian Summer Latte and scroll through this list of stories that you should have read last year. We’d put them in order of importance, but that would take way too much time and it would eliminate the joy you’ll find discovering a story you didn’t know you wanted to read. Take it away.

The Now Monthly List of News Stories

by The Editors on September 14, 2020

Yesterday (September 13, 2020) marked the six month anniversary of the current now. Hard to believe we have been mired in this situation for half of 2020. On the one hand we’re blown away by all the calamity that we’ve been faced with, on the other, we’re thankful for all those oblivious deniers who keep on keeping on like there’s nothing wrong. Kudos to them for showing us that it is entirely possible to live a normal (albeit angry) life with your head firmly mired in the sand and/or up your own butt.

With that out of the way, here’s the news that caught our clicker in the past month (thought we were doing this weekly, but my how time flies). Follow the jump for the whole list.

Dakine Sold To Marquee Brands

by The Editors on December 6, 2018

Marquee Brands, LLC, owners of zombie brands like Body Glove, Ben Sherman, and Bruno Magli, announced yesterday (December 5, 2018) that they have acquired the Dakine brand along with all related intellectual property. They’ve also partnered with JR286 to operate the brand.

Marquee Brands and JR286, who will develop Dakine’s core categories, will maintain dedicated teams for the brand in Hood River, Los Angeles, California, and Annecy, France. Ken Meidell, Dakine’s current CEO, will be joining the Marquee Brands team.

Last we checked Dakine was owned by Altamont Capital, which also holds majority positions in Brixton, Fox Head, and Mervin Manufacturing. They paid $70 million for Dakine when they bought it from Billabong in 2013, wonder what this sale means for the rest of the portfolio. Maybe nothing, maybe something. For the official word from Marquee, please follow the jump.
