Modesto, California’s Barefoot Wine, famous for making award-winning California wines, has teamed up with the Surfrider Foundation, to give someone the chance to take a break from their normal job and spend a week in San Clemente helping to keep beaches safe for barefeet. Barefoot Wine will foot the bill. It’s just one part of the Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project .
After spending our summer hosting beach cleanups, dune restorations and educational coastal tours with the Surfrider Foundation, we learned that members were contributing up to 20 hours a week on top of their professional day jobs,” said Jeremy Soine, Marketing Manager for Barefoot Wine. “The Surfrider Foundation is passionate about beach preservation, and we’re thrilled to provide the resources to help someone else work with them this summer.”
The big question is: can we drink wine while we work?

Surfrider Foundation
MODESTO, Calif., May 6 /PRNewswire/ — Is your desk job feeling a little ‘blah’? Are you dreaming about surfing a great swell instead of surfing the Internet? Want to spend some of your vacation days helping the beach instead of just sitting on it? If you are up for exciting new challenges and want to help maintain the health of our beautiful beaches and coastlines, then this is the summer dream job for you!
Barefoot Wine, known for making award-winning California wines and the Surfrider Foundation, a grassroots not-for-profit environmental organization dedicated to preserving the world’s oceans, waves and beaches, are granting someone the chance to take a hiatus from the daily grind and learn the ropes of environmental activism from experts in the field. As
part of the Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project(TM), an initiative to keep America’s beaches “barefoot-friendly,” Barefoot Wine is ‘footing the bill’ for a talented beach enthusiast to spend a week working with the Surfrider Foundation in San Clemente, California during summer 2008.
Founded in 1984 by a handful of visionary surfers in Malibu, the Surfrider Foundation now maintains over 50,000 members and 80 chapters worldwide. Almost everyone at Surfrider Foundation is a non-paid volunteer, except for fewer than 35 full-time, modestly paid staff.
