FUEL TV PRESENTS THE 2009 TAMPA PRO LIVE HD WEBCAST
Network’s website to host contest finals on March 22, 2009.
LOS ANGELES, CA – FUEL TV, the only network dedicated to the lifestyle of action sports, is excited to partner with the Skatepark of Tampa to host a live HD quality webcast from the final day of the 2009 Tampa Pro on March 22, 2009. The webcast will run from 12:00pm ET to 6:00pm ET on FUEL TV’s web site www.fuel.tv. FUEL TV will broadcast the pro street semi-finals, pro street finals, best trick final and awards ceremony. The contest will also be taped by FUEL TV’s production team and edited into a half-hour highlight show that will air on FUEL TV May 1, 2009.
The 2009 Tampa Pro takes place at The Skatepark of Tampa in Tampa, Florida from March 20 to March 22, 2009. The Tampa Pro is one of the most prestigious skateboard contests in the world and has been won by some of the biggest names in skateboarding, including Greg Lutzka (2006 and 2008) and Eric Koston (2002 and 2007).
“The Tampa Pro is one of the most dynamic and talked-about skateboard contests in the world and we’re excited to be working with the Skatepark of Tampa to offer this unique HD quality internet broadcast on FUEL TV’s web site,” says Gene Pao, FUEL TV Vice President of New Media and International Development. “As a television network, we believe FUEL TV is able to produce a webcast that is better than anything ever seen in the action sports world. FUEL TV will provide an HD quality webcast both technically and editorially—as if the show were made for television, including live announcers, instant replays, and pre-produced footage; while at the same time offering internet capabilities such e-mailing the announcer.”
“Skatepark of Tampa is stoked to be partnering with FUEL TV for the live webcast of this year’s Tampa Pro,” says Ryan Clements, Skatepark of Tampa’s GM. “FUEL TV has produced the Tampa Am and Tampa Pro shows for several years now, and we’re excited to take it to the next level with having FUEL TV handle the live webcast, too. The new HD webcast will enable us to take this, the 15th annual Tampa Pro, to a larger national and international audience than ever before!”
FUEL TV recently began offering full-length episodes of its programming including “Firsthand” and “FUEL TV Presents Camp Woodward” in HD Streaming on its web site, and is using the same HD player for the Tampa Pro webcast.
