A Traditional Malibu Christmas Song

by The Editors on December 24, 2009

This song by The Rad Dudes is one of the hookiest Christmas songs you will ever hear. That’s probably why it has become an annual tradition around here. Happy Holidays. . .

I wrote and produced CHRISTMAS IN MALIBU a little over 21 YEARS AGO after writing it on the beach in front of my Malibu beach apartment in the summer of 1988 (fifty years after IRVING BERLIN wrote WHITE CHRISTMAS in the summer of 1938 in PALM SPRINGS, CA).

The song was a kind of surprise holiday hit that year and, yes, did go on to become “kind of” a Christmas classic! It had all but faded away by the mid-nineties, but, thanks to the internet, ths song got reborn four years ago!

It’s a surfer’s dream comin’ true!

Thanks for finding the song and passing it along! There’s more about it at:

SURF’S UP, DUDES! HO! HO! HO!
