Jesse Loomis, the purveyor of PowderJet Snowboards has finally teamed up with artist Scott Lenhardt for some snowboard graphics. Here, we’ll let him explain:
We’ve been best bros and riding buddies since the early ’90’s. I build custom snowboards in Vermont. He’s an artist that’s done over 50 snowboard graphics for some legendary boards, among many other rad projects. We’ve never teamed up on a graphic until last week, and it was an amazing experience. I had three boards to ship out to Milosport SLC, and Scott was lurking here after a Xmas visit. We finally got it together, and Scotty painted the raddest graphics we’ve ever had on a PowderJet. It brings a tear to the eye.
These three hand painted boards will be available at Milo as soon as Loomis can get them there. Anyone who is interested in more information should email Jesse at PowderJet Snowboards. But better hurry, because these boards are going to go fast. For a look at the boards, follow the jump.

On the same day at Monarch Ski Area 23-year-old Collin J. Zak, an Ohio native, died after hitting a tree at about noon. According to the report Zak was snowboarding in bounds and was wearing a helmet. Denver Post
In California 23-year-old David Karlin from Orangeville, California died on December 10, 2017 after hitting a fence at Sierra-at-Tahoe. Fox40
Our thoughts are with the family and friends of all three snowboarders.
It is being reported that Shaun White (who was recently selling most of his homes) has purchased half of a “micro-compound” tucked into Laurel Canyon and formerly owned by “celebrated film, television and Broadway composer and lyricist Marc Shaiman“, according to story in Variety.
. . . property records show a corporate entity linked to two-time Olympic gold medalist Shaun White purchased a 50% undivided interest in the property. Unconfirmed scuttlebutt on the celebrity real estate street is the other half interest was acquired, via blind trust, by the ginger-haired snowboarder’s fashion-savvy musician girlfriend Sarah Barthel, one half of the electro-pop duo Phantogram.
The place reportedly features a “total of 4,304-square-feet with 5 bedrooms and 4 full and 2 half bathrooms divided between two residences and a soundproofed recording studio.” Sounds like Mr. White is finally settling down in what looks to be an epic, peaceful spot within striking distance of Hollywood. Nice.
We’ve always been fans of having one board every everything. Mostly because years of airline travel made us hate lugging around a mob of boards everywhere we went, but also because we never really knew what kind of conditions we were going to run into and having a board we know works in everything is always reassuring.
These days it seems everyone’s on the quiver program with a board for every different style of riding or condition. But how does it that work exactly? Jeremy Jones explains his quiver theory in under three minutes.
Man about shred Nick Visconti (former Tahoe Dangerzoner) has launched a coffee roasting company in Truckee, California called Drink Coffee Do Stuff.
“For many reasons snowboarding and roasting coffee are similar; more importantly, they both require style, Visconti says. “I am proud of our coffees; they are an actualization of my five-year journey as a coffee roaster, and perfectly highlight their origin characteristic with unforgettable sweetness. DRINK COFFEE DO STUFF is committed to creating four season jobs for four season residents, and contributing to a local economic and employment strategy where money made in Truckee/North Tahoe is spent in Truckee/North Tahoe.”
