Southern California’s Mountain High Resort’s new 1.6 mile long snowboard park will include two new features sponsored by KLeN Laundry.
“It is so rad that a young company like KLeN is given the opportunity to build a partnership with an industry icon such as Mountain High,” said Mark Froke, president of KLeN. “The entire team at the resort is super fun and positive about the whole plan.” One of the main assets to the entire idea is that Mountain High and KLeN sponsor some of the same athletes; Spencer Link, Cory Cronk and Kyle Loppicollo all are sponsored by both organizations.
We’re not exactly sure what the two new features will look like, but we have some ideas for their names: Clothes line? Wedgie? Sock drawer? For more details, follow the jump.

Tech snowboarders who have always felt bad about having an iPod cover that didn’t match their jacket can rest easy now thanks to a collab between Burton Snowboards and iPod case maker Speck (our current case of choice). The new cases are custom wrapped with fabric from Burtons 2011 outerwear collection.
“So many of the Burton crew use Apple products, so it’s been really cool to work with Speck on an Apple accessory,” stated Greg Dacyshyn, Chief Creative Officer, Burton Snowboards. “Both Burton and Apple are all about innovation, and we can’t wait to see our outerwear textures and prints popping up on these cases this holiday season.”
So much for finding your iPhone once you’ve thrown it on your jacket. Fitted x Burton cases are available in True Black Buffalo Print, Lumber Print, and Toile Print for a MSRP of $39.95 at the Speck or Apple Stores. Follow the jump for more product photos.
[Editors’ Note: Sadly, as we recently discovered, Speck is not making any of these cases for the iPhone 4. In fact, they only make them for the iPod touch. Which kind of negates this entire post. We apologize for not having collected our information more carefully.]

FrendsVision follows Forest Bailey through Mammoth Mountain’s Unbound Park. Smooth, huh?

Danny Thomas and the Arbor crew on the first chair.
Snowboarders began gathering at 10 PM last night (November 10, 2010) at the bottom of Mammoth Mountain’s Chair 1 to make sure they were first in line for the 2010-11 winter. Danny Thomas, Patrick Reddy, Chris Peroddi, John Farr, Marley McPhillips, and friends brought a tent and BBQ’d hotdogs all night.
“It’s not easy sleeping in a tent when you keep getting woken up by the cat driving around,” said one of the snow campers. “They came in and kicked us out around 5 AM, but we by that time we had our spot.”
The sun came up over a cloud-covered mountain, but by 7:30 it was full blue-bird and the line was filling. By the time the line began moving at 8:30 AM there were a couple hundred people ready to ride (mostly snowboarders, oddly).
There is something to be said for cold, crisp air, blue skies, and a snowboard back in the snow and sliding. It’s borderline double rainbow action.

Denver Sports (a.k.a. Metro Denver Sports Commission) is apparently hosting a FIS Snowboard Big Air contest in Denver’s Civic Center during the SIA Show on January 26, 2011. In an email sent out today they said the following:
As an SIA member and Snow Show participant, we’re opening a special Pre-Sale to you today. But you’ll need to hurry. Tickets are limited, and this party will almost certainly sell out. . . All tickets are General Admission Standing with premium viewing. All Session Passes (for both days) and a limited number of Single Session Passes are available at this time. Limit of 8 per transaction. . . Individual VIP passes are also available. Reserved VIP seated hospitality is also available directly through Denver Sports.
What they fail to mention in this “special Pre-Sale” email is how much the tickets will cost. One ticket to stand and watch a big air snowboard contest: $75. And for the VIP visitor it will cost $250 per person. Apparently, the altitude isn’t the only thing that’s high in Denver.

With two feet of fresh snow in the last 24 hours it looks like Mammoth Mountain is going to have a real winter opening when they fire up the lifts for the first time this year on Thursday, November 11, 2010. But the mountain doesn’t want everyone to just come up for opening day. No, they’d like us all to stay all weekend. And to make it more enticing they’ve hooked up Maja Ivarsson and The Sounds to play Canyon Lodge on Saturday night (following the premiere of the Unbound Terrain Park movie Another Day In Paradise).
Follow the jump for all the details.

Ever been in the snowed in parking lot of your favorite resort and not known which goggle lens is right for you? No? Us neither. But for those sad, ignorant masses who have so many lenses that they’re never really sure which to use, anon has the perfect app. It’s the Lens Visualizer.”
The standout feature of the new anon App is the industry’s first-ever live-view ‘Lens Visualizer’ tool that lets riders virtually test which anon lens is best at any given location in a matter of seconds. . . Here’s how anon’s exclusive virtual tool works: Once a rider selects the anon Lens Visualizer, their iPhone will use the camera lens as a view finder to capture their actual surroundings. Then, riders can point the phone at whatever they want (say the base lodge or the mountain) and see how it would look under six different anon lens tints. The tool allows riders to swipe from the darkest to lightest lens tint so they can see which color lens they prefer for the day’s conditions.
Tool, being the keyword here. If only they had a visualizer that could show us which pair of stinking, rotted socks had the fewest days on ’em. That would be something truly useful.
