DENVER, CO. (Nov. 20, 2010) – Frank Bourgeis cut his way through the ranks
of competitors at the 2nd Annual Salomon Backyard Bang Denver at The Art
Institute of Colorado, landing first place and $1500 for overall
consistency, smooth style and a bounty of landed tricks.

First place for women and $1000 was awarded to Courtney Cox for an unmatched
arsenal of tricks on all the rail jam features throughout the 30-minute
finals.

Thousands of spectators swarmed the event set up at 1200 Lincoln St. in
downtown Denver to celebrate the beginning of winter and support
snowboarders who traveled from throughout the US and the mountains of
Colorado to compete.

The air was chilly and the sun was shining while Cole Linzmeyer grabbed the
judges attention, earning 2nd place followed by Cody Boan, who according to
Judge Ryan Thompson had the “best looking frontside lipslide and gap to down
on the kink rail,” placing third overall.

The women’s competition was stacked with highlights including a Frontside
360 over the “Scion Deathgap” feature and tech tricks on the rails. Lynn
Neil grabbed second place and crowd favorite Izzy Lalive came in third.

Admissions representatives from the Art Institute of Colorado supplied
prospective students with information about their programs throughout the
day. The smell of local food venders wafted throughout the crowd while
spectators checked out the sponsor village and won prizes or waited to have
Salomon Pro’s Louif Paradis, Scotty Arnold and Chris Grenier sign autographs
and give out stickers and posters.

Event sponsors include The Art Institute of Colorado, Salomon Snowboards,
Bonfire Snowboarding Company, Scion, Skull Candy, Snowboard Colorado
Magazine, Red Bull, Westward, Inkmonster and Celtek.
