Someone told us if we looked very intently at the above photo of Sarah Barthel we would eventually see Shaun White. We’ve tried several times, and . . . nope . . . still nothing!

It is being reported that Shaun White (who was recently selling most of his homes) has purchased half of a “micro-compound” tucked into Laurel Canyon and formerly owned by “celebrated film, television and Broadway composer and lyricist Marc Shaiman“, according to story in Variety.
. . . property records show a corporate entity linked to two-time Olympic gold medalist Shaun White purchased a 50% undivided interest in the property. Unconfirmed scuttlebutt on the celebrity real estate street is the other half interest was acquired, via blind trust, by the ginger-haired snowboarder’s fashion-savvy musician girlfriend Sarah Barthel, one half of the electro-pop duo Phantogram.
The place reportedly features a “total of 4,304-square-feet with 5 bedrooms and 4 full and 2 half bathrooms divided between two residences and a soundproofed recording studio.” Sounds like Mr. White is finally settling down in what looks to be an epic, peaceful spot within striking distance of Hollywood. Nice.

Remember that one day when it seemed your great grandma’s car began collecting dings and scratches almost over night? “What happened here,” you’d ask. And great nana would say “Oh, that was when I was in getting groceries. I came out and the car was dinged. Someone must have backed into me.” The next week it was a scrape down the passenger side, or a smashed front headlight. “I don’t know, honey. People are just driving terribly these days.” Eventually, great nana had to leave her car in the garage and let someone else do the driving. But that was okay. You still got to see her all the time, but you didn’t have to worry about her being out on the road.
Sorry for that closeout wave of nostalgia. So, what were we talking about?

Shaun White and former Bad Things drummer Lena Zawaideh have finally settled their differences without going to court according to a story in USA Today.
Zawaideh first sued White and his company in May 2016, alleging breach of contract for lack of payment of her $3,750 monthly retainer from September 2013 until August 2014. The original lawsuit didn’t contain any sexual harassment allegations. . . She then switched attorneys and filed an amended complaint in August that added the sexual harassment claims in detail with screen shots of alleged text messages from White attached as exhibits. It sought punitive and compensatory damages, including lost wages.
When the suit was filed last August, Shaun said he would defend against the charges “vigorously in court,” apparently, he changed his mind. No details were released on exactly what the settlement was, but we’re guessing Zawaideh got money in exchange for dropping her case. Isn’t that how it usually works?

Shaun White is on a bi-coastal home dumping spree. He’s selling his beach pad in Encinitas, California, his mod home in the Hollywood Hills, and now, according to a story in the New York Post, he’s selling his “NYC Penthouse,” though we’re not sure it’s a proper penthouse, as it’s offered up for only $2.79 million (the cheapest of his homes by far).
The two-bedroom, 2½-bathroom unit is 1,174 square feet. It comes with floor-to-ceiling windows, 12-foot ceilings and stunning skyline views. . . The eight-story building, built in 2006, features a rooftop deck with a 50-foot lap pool, wet bar and BBQ, along with a gym and a 24-hour doorman.
All told Shaun has $17.69 million of homes currently on the market. Not a bad action sports exit. Wonder what he needs the money for?

Shaun White is selling another one of his houses. This time, it’s the one overlooking the beach at 1300 Neptune, in Encinitas, California (the one he was renting out for $12,500 a month). The 3,500 square foot house features four bedrooms, five baths and floor-to-ceiling views of the Pacific Ocean.
How much does Mr. Blanco want for this beachside bachelor pad? Well, he bought it in 2012 for $3.85 million and now he’s asking $7.95 million. Not a bad way to make and extra million a year, huh? While we scrape some change together, go check out the full listing by clicking this link.

TMZ.com says that Bad Things drummer Lena Zawaideh is suing bandmate Shaun White for among other things “inappropriate and sexually harassing and suggestive comments.”
Zawaideh also claims White forced her to rehearse while sick, demanded she cut her hair before a show in France … and ultimately stopped paying her because he felt she didn’t need the money. . . Zawaideh says White owes her more than $42k in back payments — but she wants A LOT more than that now … because she’s suing for punitive damages.
So far “White’s people” have not gotten back to TMZ. Reminds us of that line about every dollar being a problem.

Looks like Shaun White has actually “joined the Mammoth Resorts’ ownership team” by plunking down a pretty large pile of cash (reportedly seven figures), even though making money by running ski lifts technically ended somewhere in the 90s. That said, he certainly seems stoked on his latest brand affiliation.
“It’s amazing that I’m now an owner of the mountain where I grew up riding,” said White. “As an owner I’ll be able to make changes and shape the future of the mountain and how people enjoy it–whether they’re beginners or professionals.”
Mr. White’s influence on Mammoth’s Big Bear Resorts will certainly help (White House Slopeside Condominiums, Summer Action Sports Complex, and dryslope maybe), and hey, if it sells a few more Air & Style tickets in the process, even better.

Shaun White just upped his LA real estate game with brand new $6.4 million home in “Los Angeles’s heavily celebrified Outpost Estates,” according to a story in Variety.
The approximately 4,500-square-foot house, a boxy but still sleek and architecturally masculine interplay of poured concrete, horizontally applied wood siding, and dramatic expanses of glass, features five bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, and a glass-doored side-facing two-car garage.
Oh, those Hollywood nights, in those Hollywood Hills. . . above all the lights. . . (how’s that for an ancient reference?) Have to say, we totally approve of Señor Blanco’s real estate choices. For interior photos and a look at the view, click the link.
