Lucas Puig On Adidas

by The Editors on March 9, 2011

Adidas-Lucaspuigintro

It would appear that France’s Lucas Puig is now on the adidas skateboard program.

With unsurpassed skill and style on the skateboard, Lucas Puig was the natural consideration as the latest addition to the adidas squad.
Hailing from Toulouse, France and establishing a name for himself as…oh who are we kidding!? It’s Lucas Puig! His reputation is solid,
the guy rips, has amazing style, and is one of the best skateboarders out there.

FĂ©licitations, Lucas.

Burton x Adidas Originals

by The Editors on April 27, 2010

Burton AdidasAdidas Originals appears to have hooked up a little collab with Burton Snowboards that will bring Burton off the snow and Adidas Originals in with the shred kids, according to a story on Sports One Source.

The line, which will consist of 21 apparel pieces and seven styles of footwear, is expected to hit select Adidas Originals and Burton stores worldwide in November. It will sport Adidas Originals Trefoil and Burton branding and prices will range from $40 to $350 for apparel and $90 to $200 for footwear.

Adidas Originals’ VP Ben Pruess and Burton’s SVP & CD Greg Dacyshyn seem overjoyed with the deal. It’s two-two marketing plans in one.

Adidas Fauxboard Boots

by The Editors on June 8, 2009

Adidas-Jeremy-Scott-Snow-Boots-1-540X338.Jpg

Sure, these Jeremy Scott designed adidas snow boots look great. According to Highsnobriety.com they are “snowboard-themed.” Guess that means you can wear them around when you’re trying to “look” like a snowboarder, but not when you’re actually being a snowboarding. The boots are apparently launching in October 2009 for $250. Seems like it would be cheaper to just wear your shred boots around. . . more authentic, too.

Etnies Brings Christmas To Downtrodden Adidas

by The Editors on December 4, 2008

Soletech WillametteAfter Adidas Group Chairman Herbert Hainer emailed his 31,000 employees to let them know that the footwear giant would be skipping their $6.5 million holiday party this year thanks to the “current climate” not offering an “occasion to party,” the heads at Etnies decided it was time to step in and help their downtrodden footwear brothren.

In a full page ad in Willamette Week, Etnies invited the employees of Adidas to a Christmas party at My Father’s Place Bar including “special appearances by Santa Claus and his lovely lady elves.”

It is in the holiday spirite that the skateboarders and employees of etnies Skate Shes extend a warm and sincere invitation to the skateboarders and employees of Adidas USA to joing us in a symbolic “laying down of arms” for one joyous night, that we may come togethe and reflect upon life’s gifts as we share good cheer, celebrate the season and kick the new year off on a solid foot.

Nice. But now the big question: will anyone show up? Free beer does tend to draw a crowd. Either way it made CNBC and that’s probably worth the cost of the ad. Click here for the video.

A Simple List Of News Headlines

by The Editors on May 16, 2022

By clicking the “continue” link at the bottom of this blurb, you will encounter a list of headlines that refer to our topics, namely, skateboarding, surfing, snowboarding, fashion, and finally, business. Many of these stories have been read by “The Editors,” and many have not.

The list of headlines style is evidence of the slow evolution of this site and The Editors themselves. Snark has been annoying for nearly a decade (deja vu from last month), and The Editors realized there is no longer any reason to restate what other people have written to make it funnier. Few have time for witty nor funny when it slows the speed of information consumption.

Nothing is getting in the way here. Follow the jump and read the list. If there are brands, people, or topics that interest you, please use the search function in your browser and jump to it straight away. Enjoy.

Post Olympic News Lister Time

by The Editors on February 14, 2022

It’s newsies time. Obviously, this list is overloaded with Olympic content since that’s what snowboarding is up to right now. And Shaun White is the biggest news from Chinaland. Shaun, and the terrible judging. But, oddly, few outlets wrote about that. Censorship? Probably not, but you know the journalists who are visiting China and hope to stay and/or return to the country don’t want to upset the PRC media watchers. Click the link for the list. And get going. This is enough to make it look like you’re working for the rest of the afternoon!

The Happy New 2022 News Lister

by The Editors on January 3, 2022

It’s a New Year. Time to bury those old habits, get out the list, and start working toward the new you in 2022. Or, just grab another Indian Summer Latte and scroll through this list of stories that you should have read last year. We’d put them in order of importance, but that would take way too much time and it would eliminate the joy you’ll find discovering a story you didn’t know you wanted to read. Take it away.

A Post Summer News List

by The Editors on September 15, 2021

There’s a question we asked ourselves, while watching The Ultimate Surfer — Is this the pinnacle of surf entertainment? Was merging a group of washed and ok surfers with Survivor the best idea ever conceived by a man formerly employed by Oprah? Then we asked a followup: if we can seriously consider the first question, then what business do we have choosing stories for a long list of important action sporting news? The answer to the second question was is easy. We have no business. None whatsoever. Enjoy!
