Qliq Media Announces Seshn.com

index_header_logo.jpgThe Seshn.com site has been up for awhile, but the press release has just now gone out. And guess who is involved? Former Joyride Snowboards founder Ken Greengard. How is this new action sports portal different from other sites like 5ones.com? Seshn founder Brandon Winnie explains.

Seshn aims to provide people with a unique site that isn’t your typical trendy action sports site attempting to create another YouTube or Myspace for action sports. “The people involved in this lifestyle are leaders and trendsetters, so we feel that we have created a site that meets that label. We have developed a unique concept and strategy that let’s people be the individualists and trendsetters that they are,” Brandon goes on to say. “I started this thing because I saw an opening that wasn’t being filled. I saw so many people trying to copy Myspace, Facebook and YouTube. Those sites will always be around, so why try to compete with them? My idea was let’s create an information network and let’s work with them.”

The WordPress-powered site looks nice (but then don’t they all). It will be interesting to see how the content grows as the site develops in what is becoming a horrendously crowded market place.

Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) May 8, 2008 — Qliq Media, a new digital media company announces the launch of a new lifestyle community called Seshn.com. Seshn is a niche blog network focused on skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing and the lifestyle that surrounds these sports. By focusing not just on the sports themselves, Seshn is trying to bring the culture to the forefront of the community and make sure that it doesn’t go unnoticed.

“Art, design, photography, film and music are a huge part of this culture that we love, and we want to make sure that these artforms are very much apart of what Seshn is all about,” says site founder, Brandon Winnie. “There are so many sites out there that are just focused on the sport aspect and that’s great, but we want to cover things that people are searching for beyond the sports.” With that concept in mind, Seshn has already established itself as the premiere site for the boardsports culture and lifestyle. The site features numerous professional contributors ranging from Artists and Designers, to Photographers and Industry Insiders.

Working with sites like Facebook and Myspace by using Seshn as an intercessor, can be very valuable for companies that are trying to get more eyeballs viewing their products, athletes and news stories. With new technology developments in recent months, online content is more sharable than ever before. Seshn is working with these technologies to provide solutions for companies and brands that are seeking to distribute their content online, outside of their own websites. Seshn has already begun working with brands such as Matix Clothing, Nike6.0, Lost Energy Drink, Neff Headwear, Factor 54 and others. Seshn is also currently in talks with Professional and Amateur Athletes that are searching for ways to market themselves online, a new-age necessity that has been going unnoticed in recent years.

Because Seshn is not a social network, it does not feature robust profiles where users upload the typical photos and videos and expect people to view and comment them. Seshn has created a vertical information network that is scalable and very targeted to meet the needs of advertisers and users as well. This site is built on a blog platform, meaning that users can sign up and self-publish their own blogs. If the content is relevant, it will be shared with the Seshn community.

Tired of jumping from site to site to find interesting content he was searching for, site founder, Brandon Winnie, got tired of reading the same formal press releases and wanted to create a site that offered real, raw content straight from the source.

“I wanted to give people a chance to contribute their own content and not have to worry about being formal. Of course it’s very important to have correct grammar and spell correctly, and we may have a few errors here and there but that’s they beauty behind Seshn. It’s real, it’s original and it’s fun, just like the culture that surrounds us,” says Brandon.

Out of the gate, Seshn.com has already seen advertisers jumping on board quickly. By hiring Kristian Walters, a former professional snowboarder, and expert in online marketing and advertising, Seshn has quickly placed itself in the forefront of sites that endemic action sports brands are looking to advertise with online. “Seshn is a site that is built for the audience. The audience has the ability to express what is real in action sports. Seshn also focuses on all the other apsects, not just skating or shredding. Music, art and lifestyle are a big part of the sports and Advertisers realize that is a key point and are eager to advertise to that audience,” said Walters.

With the addition of Kristian Walters running the online advertising for Seshn, Qliq Media, the parent company behind Seshn, has also brought on Ken Greengard as a partner in the business. Ken Greengard has over twenty years of experience in the Action Sports Industry and was the founder of successful Snowboard Manufacturer, Joyride Snowboards. “I brought Ken on board with us because he brings a great energy and personality to the table, not to mention his extensive background in this lifestyle. Ken has been in the thick of this business for more than two decades, he knows what he is doing and that knowledge is crucial for us to maintain our credibility in the action sports industry and abroad. We wanted to build a team of individuals that understand this lifestyle, but most importantly, live it themselves. Ken is the epitome of those things,” concluded Winnie.

Seshn plans to launch a series of features that goes beyond just blogs and news content. Shutter Butter, an online portfolio microsite on Seshn is the newest addition to these unique features on the site. Shutter Butter displays the top photographs of some of the top Action Sports & Lifestyle Photographers in the world. “What’s unique about Shutter Butter is we give all different types of Photographers, the chance to add audio commentary to their best photos. It really allows the Photographer to paint a picture for the viewer and add some background to each photo. It makes it very interesting,” said Ken Greengard.
