Supra Footwear has opened a flagship retail store in the heart of Mexico City’s historic Colonia Juarez neighborhood. This new store joins other flagship locations in Paris, NYC, Santa Monica, and Tokyo.

“As Mexico’s capital city, opening a store here makes perfect sense in securing a longtime home for SUPRA,” said SUPRA co-founder Scott Bailey. “Since we started this company some of our most ardent fans have been from Mexico, so we look forward to nurturing that relationship as the brand continues to grow globally.”

December 10, 2014 (Fountain Valley, CA) — SUPRA Footwear announces opening of flagship store in Mexico City. Located at Insurgentes Sur 34 in the historic Colonia Juarez neighborhood of Mexico Distrito Federal, the store offers SUPRA’s full line of footwear, apparel, and accessories.

For the grand opening, team riders Chad Muska and Spencer Hamilton were on hand to help kick off the festivities alongside Bailey. Devoted fans lined up outside the store the night before to ensure their spot inside, and for a chance to meet Muska and Spencer who signed autographs for the first 150 attendees.

“There’s a big presence for SUPRA within Mexico,” said Chad Muska. “So to come here and see it personally, face to face, to have the love from the locals out here and the acceptance from the community, is such an amazing experience.”

Inspired by the ancient ruins of Teotihuacan, Muska designed a custom sculpture to reflect the ancestry of Mexico City as well as provide a unique piece of skate able art for the store. Muska drew out the plans for the concept then enlisted local Mexican skateboarder and artist, Tachi, to bring the idea to life. The full design, manufacturing, and testing process is chronicled in our attached video.

SUPRA Mexico City is the brand’s fifth location with stores in Paris, NYC, Santa Monica, and Tokyo.
