After wading through a week of less the spectacular surf the Vans US Open of Surfing got a little boost this morning (Friday 26, 2013) with the occasional four footer. Kelly Slater is already out in the round of 24 (thanks Michel Bourez) but Jadson Andre and Julian Wilson are still in there. More action is on the way. Click here to watch live, or follow the jump for the official word from the ASP.HUNTINGTON BEACH, California/USA (Friday, July 26, 2013) – ASP Prime Vans US Open of Surfing Men’s Round 4 is LIVE this morning in peaky two-to-four foot (1 metro) waves at Huntington Beach Pier and today’s action is slated to complete the elimination Round of 24 followed by Women’s ASP WCT Round 4 as well.
The Vans US Open of Surfing represents the fourth of eight ASP Prime rated events on the 2013 calendar, attracting several of the world’s best surfers in search of the crucial points on offer towards their ASP World Ranking as well as the coveted US$100,000 first place prize purse. For the women, the Vans US Open is the sixth of eight WCT events, drawing the ASP Top 17 as they chase their respective ASP World Title campaigns.
Up first this morning will be Jadson Andre (BRA) ,23, versus Sebastian Zietz (HAW), 25, in Heat 1 of the Round of 24.

In addition to all of the ASP action, the 2013 Vans US Open is a massive action sports festival that will also include the Joel Tudor Duct Tape Invitational, BMX and Skate Competitions, performances from Modest Mouse, The Faint, Matt Costa and more.
