FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Valdez, Alaska – June 19, 2013 – Tailgate Alaska is pleased to announce the addition of industry veteran Chad Perrin. Chad brings a shared passion for safe backcountry exploration and sharing (riding) the unparalleled bounty of Alaska’s mountains to winter sports most dedicated participants.

Chad will join the team in the capacity of Director of Business Development. In addition to spearheading sales efforts, Chad will help bring Tailgate Alaska’s message of backcountry safety to more people than ever.

According to event founder Mark Sullivan, “We are excited to bring Chad on board. His track record building Jones Snowboards speaks for itself. I am excited to work with someone as passionate as I am about big mountain riding and the adventure of getting out in the backcountry.”

“Tailgate Alaska is the premiere backcountry/big mountain inspired freeride event – it is a natural progression for me, what Mark has built over the past 6 seasons is amazing, and he wants to take the Tailgate brand to the next level. I am excited to take on this challenge and build the brand along side him. ” says Perrin. “What I love is the focus on snow safety and backcountry education, I feel this is one of the largest challenges we face as in industry today with more people traveling outside the typical resort boundaries, Tailgate will be the beacon of snow-safety and education for the consumer and hopefully for the industry as a whole”

Now going into its seventh year, Tailgate Alaska has grown significantly each year and exposes riding the World’s most acclaimed terrain and conditions to more people than ever. Taking the message of backcountry education to a die hard audience has become a responsibility of leadership, as big mountain riding has made the transition from simply riding down big, challenging mountains, to exploring areas that have rarely if ever been ridden.

“Tailgate Alaska has always been about constant improvement and the event has been refined each year, now we will take it further. The influx of new ideas and experience from the world’s most successful backcountry snowboarding brand will help us take Tailgate Alaska to entirely new levels.”

Tailgate Alaska 2014 will take place on Thompson Pass in the heart of Alaska’s Chugach range from March 28 – April 6, 2014. The ten day festival will bring recreational participants, pro riders and media from around the world together for the ultimate celebration of wintersports. You too can come to Tailgate Alaska and ride untracked snow on unlimited terrain, get free education, and beer, meet hundreds of like minded people and share good times together each spring at Tailgate Alaska.. Life is good in AK.
