by The Editors on March 19, 2013

8116983Christopher Sorensen, 21, of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada died on March 9, 2013 after reportedly hitting a snow fence at Marmot Basin in Jasper National Park, according to a story in the Edmonton Journal.

“He was there with a few friends, videoing, having some fun. It looks like he just caught an edge and went into a snow fence,” said Jasper RCMP Sgt. Dave Maludzinksi. . . Sorensen was wearing a helmet, Maludzinksi added.

According to recent Colorado ski injury numbers quoted in the Denver Post, this kind of accident happens much more often than you would expect. Our thoughts are with Sorensen’s family and friends.
