ISFF is the only celebration of its kind to honor the creativity of filmmaking within the industry as a medium that has elevated skateboarding into a lifestyle and widespread art form. Dubbed the “Oscars of Skateboarding” by Color magazine, the International Skateboard Film Festival is steadily gaining momentum as the premier film festival to recognize the achievements of skateboard filmmakers across the globe.

CARLSBAD, CA— The Academy of Skateboard Filmmakers, Arts & Science (ASF) is pleased to announce the second annual International Skateboard Film Festival (ISFF), taking place in Los Angeles December 6-9, 2012. ISFF is the only celebration of its kind to honor the creativity of filmmaking within the industry as a medium that has elevated skateboarding into a lifestyle and widespread art form. Dubbed the “Oscars of Skateboarding” by Color magazine, the International Skateboard Film Festival is steadily gaining momentum as the premier film festival to recognize the achievements of skateboard filmmakers across the globe. This year’s festival will be coming off the heels of the European debut of the International Skateboard Film Festival in Biarritz, France, held in June. The Festival is open to filmmakers from around the world, independent to emerging, skate shops, media, and brands. Films are nominated into 8 distinctive categories and winners are announced during a private awards ceremony on the last day of the Festival. THURDAY, DECEMBER 6:
• Official selection screenings from ISFF 2012 including nominees for Best Documentary, Best Independent & Emerging Filmmaker, Best Brand Film, Best Short Film or Web Video.

• Pre-worldwide release screenings of Waiting for Lightning, the biopic on the life of Danny Way; followed by Q&A with director Jacob Rosenberg, Danny Way and select cast members.
Time: 7:30 pm and 9:55 pm. Tickets available through theater box office.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7:
• Special presentation of Girl Skateboards and Chocolate Skateboard’s highly-anticipated new video, Pretty Sweet, directed by ISFF Academy member Ty Evans.
Time: 8 pm. Tickets available at door, cash only. ATM available on site.
Location: Downtown Independent Theater, 251 S. Main Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012
• ISFF after party at Pizzanista.
Time: Immediately following screening of Pretty Sweet. Location: Pizzanista, 2019 E. 7th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90021

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 9:
