Flaunt (26 Of 33)

Kelly Canyon, Idaho’s Jessika Jenson took $5,000 and the 2012 Billabong Flaunt It slopestyle finals at Sierra At Tahoe on Sunday, April 1, 2012. Breanna Strangeland took $700 in the rail jam.

Jenson locked down a switch 270 onto the gap-to down box, followed by a switch board slide 270 off the pole jam, to a cab 540 and finishing off with a big backside 540 off the final 50-foot jump. Jenson was followed by Lynn Neil from Jackson Hole, Wyoming in second place and California’s Rel Friedman in third place.

For the official word and full results from Billabong follow the jump. The Billabong Flaunt It Finals with Jamie Anderson, presented by Sony Ericsson was held at Sierra-at-Tahoe this past weekend. The 4* TTR World Snowboard Tour event hit some initial bad luck on Saturday as the mountain was forced to close due to 100 mile per hour winds at the peak and threats of an oncoming storm, which produced 18 inches of fresh snow for Sunday morning. The competitors enjoyed some deep turns in between practice laps Sunday morning in preparation for the event, with the clouds clearing leaving nothing but blue skies as the event kicked off.

Jessika Jenson from Kelly Canyon, Idaho took home the grand prize of $5,000 winning first place in the Slopestyle event. She locked down a switch 270 onto the gap-to down box, followed by a switch board slide 270 off the pole jam, to a cab 540 and finishing off with a big backside 540 off the final 50-foot jump. Jenson was followed by Lynn Neil from Jackson Hole, Wyoming in second place and California’s Rel Friedman in third place.

For the Rail Jam, Sierra-at-Tahoe put the competitors skills to the test with a massive set up containing 6 features, including a stair set and an unforgiving gap with some definite consequences. Canada’s Breanna Stangeland locked in a perfect backlit pretzel out on the staircase down rail, landing her in first place for the Rail Jam. Rel Freidman came in second with a backside 180 switch 50-50 on the down rail, with third place going to Billabong and Von Zipper rider Jenna Blasman with a cab 180 gap to switch 50-50 backside 180 out on the down flat down.

The Dakine Best Trick went to Lynn Neil’s cab 540 stale, and New Zealand’s Christy Prior earned the Nixon Style Award killing it all day long. Jessika Jenson paid for her technical tricks with the Von Zipper Rag Doll Award by taking a heavy tumble on the rail setup.

A big thanks to Sierra-at-Tahoe and all Flaunt It Sponsors for a successful grand finale of the Flaunt It tour!
