Tony Hawk’s Foundation Garage Sale

by The Editors on March 2, 2012

Thf-AuctionIt looks like Tony Hawk has been doing a little spring cleaning lately. If he’s not selling his everyday family driving car, he’s auctioning off collectables from his office to raise money for his charity.

This time he’s got a slew of oddness including: an old contest trophy, an autographed Michael Jordan Jersey, a Tony Hawk Prototype Doll Head, prototype Airwalk Shoes, Five nights in dangerous Cancun, Mexico, and a golden head of Tony Hawk sculpture. But that’s just a few of them. There three pages more of the stuff.

If any of this sounds interesting to you click the link and make a bid. All the proceeds from the auction will go to the Tony Hawk Foundation. Follow the jump for the official word from Tony Hawk, Inc.Tony Hawk Auctions Personal Treasures For Good
Champion skateboarder launches online auction to benefit at-risk youth.

3/1/12 (Vista, CA) – Tony Hawk has been helping create free, public skateparks for at-risk youth for over a decade now, and starting today he’s offering a collection of personal belongings and other special items to help raise funds to build even more.

This special eBay event includes skateboards and trophies from Tony’s archive, a custom car, a badass motorcycle, and other exclusive items and experiences. Online at www.thfauction.org, the auction runs until March 11 at 7 PM (Pacific Standard Time). All proceeds benefit the Tony Hawk Foundation, which has helped to open more than 400 public skateparks in low-income communities across the U.S.

Some of the items up for auction include the following:

X Games Champions’ Set: The dominators of X Games vert skateboarding (1995–Present) have come together to create this special collection of 5 autographed pro skateboard decks: Tony Hawk, Andy Macdonald, Shaun White, Buckly Lasek, and Pierre-Luc Gagnon. For the past 17 years, these are the names that have graced the vert-skating podium more than any other.

DUB Edition Customized Tony Hawk 2010 Dodge Challenger RT: The reigning King Of The Asphalt Jungle, the Dodge Challenger was named the “most appealing midsize sporty car,” according to J.D. Power and Associates. Totally customized by DUB, this vehicle includes a 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 engine (372 Horse Power), 22″ Custom TIS Luxury Wheels with Pirelli Tires, Tony Hawk Logo Embroidery on Headrest, 2-7″ Savv DVD player and monitors, Rockford Fosgate 10″subwoofer box, Rockford Fosgate 200-watt amp, DUB Chrome Badges, Performance hood, Front buckets with aggressive bolstering, five-passenger seating, All-Speed Traction Control, advanced multistage front air bags, supplemental side-curtain front and rear air bags, and more!

Victory Kingpin 8-Ball Motorcycle: The Kingpin 8-Ball is the classic modern cruiser, born out of a passion for throwing a leg over a raw, stylish bike and surging forward with a willing throttle. The blacked out bars, wheels and engine give it the down-and-dirty attitude of a motorcycle that can take on the distance without all the bells and whistles.

Tony Hawk Contest Trophy: Tony Hawk took First Place in the Vert event (of course!) at the 17th-annual World Cup Münster Monster Mastership event in Germany in 1998. This one-of-a-kind custom trophy was awarded to Tony on that occasion, and has been in his possession ever since. Tony Hawk has won hundreds of trophies. But you won’t see them on eBay–or in any auction, except here.

Autographed Michael Jordan Jersey: Tony bought this signed #23 Chicago Bulls jersey at a sports memorabilia store in Las Vegas at a time when he was being compared to Michael Jordan. Having hung in his office for several years now, the jersey’s finally ready to retire and make room for Tony’s new autographed Jeremy Lin jersey (just kidding!). But seriously, this is your chance to own a piece whose story includes two true legends.

Tony Hawk Prototype Doll Head: Own the actual prototype doll head created for Tony’s action figure. Also included is one of the resulting 12-inch Tony Hawk action figures (released in 2002), with all the accessories, unopened, in the box.

Tony Hawk 2 Prototype Airwalk Shoes: Sneakerheads line up! This is one of two sample pairs of 1997 Tony Hawk 2 pro-model Airwalk shoes created for Tony to approve ahead of production of his personal skate shoe. Pre-dating the pro-model skate shoe fad, this shoe was designed and released at a time when just a handful of skaters had their names on shoes.

Chateau Marmont Package: Enjoy a 2-night stay at the fabulous Chateau Marmont in Hollywood, California, with dinner for two. Chateau is always crawling with stars and starlets. Who will you run into (or be seated beside)?

The X FACTOR – 4 tickets to a live taping during the regular season: In a departure from other singing competition series, first time contestants audition for the X FACTOR judges (Simon Cowell, Antonio “L.A.” Reid, Paula Abdul, and Nicole Scherzinger) in front of an audience of thousands–raising the stakes and increasing the pressure to impress not only the judges, but also a potential legion of fans.

Tony Hawk Personal Powell Peralta Street Skateboard Deck: Own Tony’s personal street deck, ridden by the champion skater in 1989. This Powell Peralta Tony Hawk “mini” pro deck was originally designed for smaller skaters, based on Tony’s full-size shape, but its lighter, more agile size made it a perfect street board at the time. The deck is used, scratched, and weathered—thrashed by the man, himself!

America’s Got Talent – Howie Mandel: Enjoy (4) VIP tickets to the taping of America’s Got Talent, plus meet and greet with Howie Mandel. Howie joins returning celebrity judges Sharon Osbourne and Piers Morgan this season, while actor/producer/comedian Nick Cannon returns as host. With the talent search open to acts of all ages, America’s Got Talent has brought the variety format back to the forefront of American culture by showcasing performers from across the country, all vying for their chance to strut and perform on-stage, hoping to win America’s hearts.

A charitable, non-profit organization, the Tony Hawk Foundation was established in 2002 by its namesake, professional skateboarder Tony Hawk, to promote and provide funds for high-quality public skateparks in low-income areas throughout the United States-with an emphasis on the word “quality.” Since then, the Foundation has awarded $3,972,350 to 493 communities. The Foundation focuses on working with local officials and grassroots, community-based organizations that plan to hire designers and contractors with strong experience designing and building skateparks.
The Tony Hawk Foundation was established by a gift from Tony Hawk. Its directors raise additional funds through events, donations, and continuing contributions from Tony and other entities. In addition to skateparks, the Foundation also makes donations to other children-related charities, as chosen by its Board Of Directors.
