A 34-year-old snowboarder from England reportedly died last Tuesday (January 17, 2011) after hitting either a tree or a sign post at Lake Tahoe’s Heavenly Mountain Resort, according to a story on MyNews4.com.
Officials say he went off the California trail at the intersection of Tamarack return and hit either a tree or sign pole. Ski patrollers attempted to save the victim from England but he passed away before arriving at Barton Memorial Hospital.
The snowboarder was wearing a helmet at the time of his crash.
