[Update: Sunday 1:34 PM: According to a Tweet from Real’s Jim Thiebaud: “Just visited JT. He’s doing incredible. Awake, walking & able to laugh at my bad jokes(& balloon). So good to see.”
After fracturing his skull while skating in Las Vegas, Nevada on Thursday, November 17, 2011 and being placed in a “medically induced coma” San Diego skater JT Aultz appears to be on the mend, according to Twitter posts quoted on ESPN.com/Action.
As of Friday night, according to fellow pro Corey Duffel’s Twitter, Aultz was “awake and talking slowly.” Duffel added that he was out of the coma and that it was amazing to see his eyes open and see him smile.” Via Duffel’s Instagram, Duffel reported that Aultz would “remain in the Intensive Care Unit for the next few days, but he’s looking great and was even speaking a bit.”
Phew. Nice to see things have taken a turn for the better.
