March 14, 2011 (Lake Forest, CA) – etnies welcomes Tucker Gerrick to the marketing team as the senior marketing manager. In his new role he will oversee the etnies marketing program.

“Skateboarders need to lead our industry, and I am proud join etnies because it is skateboarder-owned and run,” said Tucker Gerrick, etnies senior marketing manager. “As a skateboarder first, etnies owner and CEO Pierre-Andre has integrity which means a lot to me.”

Skateboarding for more than 23 years, Tucker made a name for himself in the Midwest where he co-founded Familia skateshop with Steve Nesser and Adam Bovee. As co-founder and general manager for Familia, his roles included buying, marketing, event management, product design and development and managing of the day-to-day of one of the Midwest’s most legit skate shops.

“I’m stoked that Tucker is now at etnies – He has great insights from working with top professional skateboarders, and after working in retail he understands the specific needs of skate shops,” said Don Brown, senior VP of marketing for etnies. “Plus, the fact that Tucker considers freestylers legitimate skateboarders makes me like him even more…. we’ll have him doing spacewalks, railflips, and caspers in no time!”

After relocating from snowy Minneapolis, the warm dry etnies T.F. must have been a site for sore eyes because Tucker logged some time skating there even before he moved into an office.
