It appears that Shaun White was able get out of competing in his third Burton US Open Snowboarding Championship in a row. This time reportedly so he can have some surgery done on his foot, according to a story on ESPN/Action.
An email statement from White’s publicist Samantha Hill on Monday afternoon read: “Shaun is taking a short break from riding due to minor surgery he is having on his foot.” . . Hill declined to reveal the extent of White’s injury, or when it occurred. White has not competed since winning a gold medal in halfpipe at Winter X Games 15 in January.
Wonder what Mr. White has against Vermont?
