Finally there is a way to learn to skateboard without leaving the house. Yes, we’re going to learn to “skate like a professional” from the comfort of our our laptop with help from one of Goskate.com’s “300 instructors.”

GoSkate.com’s owner, Rob Dunfey, says, “We get calls all the time from people who say that even though our skateboard lesson rates are very reasonable, they still don’t fall within their budget, that’s why I decided to do live skateboarding lessons over the web for free.”

The first free, live skateoarding lesson will be broadcast online Tuesday February 8, 2011 (3 PM PST, 6 PM EST) featuring the teaching stylings of Professional Skateboarding instructor Dan MacFarlane. Hey, if these skateboard lessons were featured in CVS Pharmacy, Sam’s Club, and Rite Aid, they’ve got to be great. Follow the jump for all the details.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Press Release) – Jan 01, 2011 – GoSkate.com is the biggest skateboard lesson company in the country and now they’re providing free skateboard lessons via web broadcast. GoSkate.com’s owner, Rob Dunfey, says, “We get calls all the time from people who say that even though our skateboard lesson rates are very reasonable, they still don’t fall within their budget, that’s why I decided to do live skateboarding lessons over the web for free.” GoSkate.com has been in business for 15 years now and they are the biggest skateboard lesson company in the United States. GoSkate has more than 300 instructors in their database and have taught beginners, intermediates and professionals. They have professional skateboarders such as Dave Bachinsky, Andrew Currie, Norman Woods and Ryan Gallant for instructors. After much anticipation their first live skateboard lesson broadcast will be airing in February.

Dan McFarlane, a professional skateboarder in Houston, Texas will be the instructor. Dan is the creator of one of the most successful skateboard instructional DVD’s “Skateboarding Explained” and has his own skateboard line, Mentality Skateboards. As part of the GoSkate.com family Dan has been one of the company’s top instructors. Dan shares the same vision as owner, Rob Dunfey, in creating a live skateboard lesson broadcast channel. That vision is going to become a reality on Tuesday, February 8th, 2011 at 3:00pm eastern time. The free skateboard lesson will be one hour and a half and the viewers will be able to call in and ask Dan questions, for free.

I did some research on free skateboard lessons via internet stream and noticed that no other company offers free skateboard lessons consistently and over a live stream on the internet. Owner Rob Dunfey, says that the lessons will be “about an hour long and a half and they will start with the basics of skateboarding and as the lessons progress throughout the year they will get more complex.” I asked Rob how many people can watch a live streaming class at one time and he said, “There’s no limit to the amount of viewers, that’s what makes this so cool.” GoSkate.com is definitely on to something big and if this takes off I’m sure we’ll be seeing more companies following in their wake. So set up your laptop in the garage, gear up and go skate!
