Barefoot Adventure: 1960. Surfing around Hawaii’s islands on gigantic waves. Surfers try legendary waves at Makaha Beach. Easy to see why Hawaii is still every surfer’s dream location. Music by jazz legend Bud Shank.
Surf Crazy: 1959. Traveling 7000 miles (approx. 10,000km.) to search for surfer’s paradise where palm trees sway in the tropical breeze. This time, destination is Mexico where nobody has ever surfed. Back in California, they try for some classical surfing. At Waimea Bay in Hawaii, they challenge for enormous waves.
Surfin’ Shorts: 1960.This video features three of these early works. The Wet Set is a film produced for Hobie-MacGregor Sportswear, which features surfers modeling swimwear (on the waves). Slippery When Wet: 1958. A story about super surfing in Hawaii’s surfer’s paradise on Oahu Island. Legendary surfers such as Del Canon, Kemp Aaberg, Henry Ford, Freddie Pfhaler have surfed the wonderful waves at Big Sunset Beach and Makaha Beach. Music by professional jazz player Bud Shank.
Surfing Hollow Days: Featuring surfing icon Phil Edwards, Brown’s 1961 film, Surfing Hollow Days, created a priceless insider’s look at surfing in Mexico, California, Florida, Australia and Hawaii and takes us on the first surf trip to the eastern US coast.
Waterlogged: 1962. Director Bruce Brown edited together the best 90 minutes of footage from his previous four films to bring non-stop, wave after wave, sensational surf excitement.
