Flipping Off Billabong & Element

Notforsale-650Final

A subtle yet effective response from Flip Skateboards regarding Mark Appleyard’s move to Element. . . we assume.

Ironically, it appears that both Geoff Rowley and David Gonzalez forgot (at least for a moment) that they are both sponsored by the same publicly traded clothing company (Volcom) that Apples rides for? Maybe that’s why this post is no longer on the Flip site. Or maybe it was all one big joke.

not a supporter of billabong buying everyone, but didn;t rowley ride for ccs? Don’t also forget vf. I’m sure he cashes those checks,

Both of them are hypocrite wankers. I guess Vans, Volcom and Globe have suddenly dropped all their surfers, snowboarders and bmxers.

Flip/Indy-NHS-Santa Cruz Surfboards…Surf company. Volcom-surf company, Vans-surf team. Globe-surf team. Wow…what ever this was meant for, Geoff just lost cool points in my book.

Sure Geoff and David are “sponsored” by companies that have Surf teams but that’s obviously not the point. Regardless of the Billabong stab, I think its good that they ruffle some feathers and point out to the younger generation that the skate industry thrives on skaters and brands that have the integrity to see the bullshit in corporate ogres like Element.

However, the “we’re not for sale” Tees? Didn’t Flip SELL to NHS? Or are they just distributing the product as a favor?

Either way, I gotta say to ‘Get the rope’ that they both EARNED cool points (really? “cool points”? That’s definitely Surf turkey jargon) for having enough passion to say something instead of just “hey guys, shake junt!”

It’s always about the money. You think for a moment the marketing folks care about your sensibilties regarding what is and isn’t authentic or “core”? Capturing lighting in a bottle- see Volcom is the dream baby. Every dorky kid across the planet is now volcom stoned. Thanks Ozzy, brucie, et al. These skaters are very necessary ingredients to the winning recipe, middle fingers and all.

I wonder why they didn’t “FLIP” out when ARTO went to Burton? Oh, Arto doesn’t sell product like Mark, duh!!!

Geoff just realized that FLIP has been reduced to…..well we will just say a totally radical skateboard team of really hardcore dudes that sell boatloads of product.

BTW: is FLIP still in business? I thought they called it quits years ago? They should have called it quits.

Apples is the real deal. Good for Mark!!! Finally made the right move!!! FLIP is so 1995!!!

Time to get back on CIRCA APPLES, we miss you!!!

In final words….It’s so PUNK to print up a shirt with “Baby Blue” letters saying….NOT FOR $ALE. Nice shirt..I’m sure PAC SUN will have those next week. Can’t wait to buy one for Halloween. The shirt will work perfect with my “I’m so punk, I ride for Vans and Volcom and make little kids join me in photos because I’m so secure in my statement” costume. I plan on hitting all the cool spots in HB!!! I might even ride a skateboard and fake like I’m really hurt so I don’t have to film a full video part.

TREE HUGERS RULE!!!

DEVIL WORSHIPERS SUCK!!!

MALL RAT…that is classic. Very Good way to conclude a lame attempt by Rowley to share nothing to the world. HA!
