Truck Tows Skateboarder Into Hospital

by The Editors on June 3, 2010

An 8-year-old Kansas boy is in critical condition after towing on his skateboard behind a truck his brother was driving, according to a story KCTC5.com.

Witnesses said the 8-year-old was riding alongside the passenger side of the truck, when he lost control and fell. After falling, the truck struck the boy. . . “I saw him holding onto the truck and let go, grab, and then grab back on,” witness Worthen said. “The truck continued going and slammed on its braked and backed up. I saw the older brother grab (him) and run him down the hill.”

Seems like a certain skateboard industry organization might be able to get the word out that towing is a really, really bad idea. If you don’t believe it, click here for more towing stories.

To skateboarders who think it’s a good idea to participate in towing by grabbing on to a car or truck or any moving vehicle is Really Bad Karma, i.e. a really, really bad idea! And, if you’re not wearing a Helmet either, you may likely take yourself out the action a lot quicker than you were planning. Getting up in the morning to ride another day is what you want to plan to do. After all, isn’t that what life is all about 😀
