Justin Tomerlin, 27, of La Jolla, California died on March 22, 2010 from injuries he sustained on March 20, 2010 after falling while skateboarding near his home.
Michael Ellano, an investigator with the county medical examiner’s office, said Tomerlin “was skateboarding without a helmet down a hill near his home when he fell and struck his head. Medics responded and transported him to Scripps La Jolla Hospital where he was diagnosed with a closed head (internal bleeding) injury. He was placed on life support, but unfortunately he was declared brain dead on Monday, March 22.
