After these photos of a girl kissing and biting Scotty Lago’s Olympic bronze medal surfaced on TMZ.com today, Scotty reportedly apologized to the U.S. Olympic Committee and the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association and “volunteered” to go home.
In a strange twist it seems TMZ actually feels badly about this one, according to the site.
TMZ published the photo and apparently it didn’t sit well with someone. He’s a snowboarder for cryin’ out loud. They should have cut him a break.
As we tweeted earlier in the week, we’re glad Scotty was there, stoked he won the bronze, and we’re bummed he’s not still in town interacting with those “hot Russians.”

This really pisses me off. I mean I hate to be the spoiler here, but Scotty Lago is there representing the United States. That shot makes him look like he’s a college freshman hitting on the ugly girl at a frat party. Is it too much to expect more out of our athletes?
Thanks to Tiger, the rest of the world expects America’s athletes to be banging seven chicks at a time, leaking a video of the saucy parts, and perhaps fathering a few illegitimate kids along the way.

i like leggo, and it’s hilarious seeing sullivan and greg in the background having lots of fun at shine for white’s party…but it’s the olympics (party party party) and although he’s a noob to this, it’s still pretty sketch because of some past history with the us oly team and also he’s wearing his team usa bride on his hot torso. it’s probably a win nil situation and will cancel out hopefully and doesn’t become anything other than what it was. the dude totally got stiffed and isn’t getting the raw end of the deal. it would have been great for him to have finished off his great van experience, but instead shit’s gotta happen and sketch people trying to get the one up’s on these guys. the man’s a kid. leave it be.

This should be seen as a disgrace; the fact that it isn’t shows just how decadent our society has become. We wonder why other nations look at us as the “evil Satan,” when we act like this in public. The fact is that moral standards have not changed, they’re still the same today as when God instituted them. The shame is, most people today have bought into this self-gratification doctrine without understanding the cost. As the Fram oil filter commercial said, “Pay me now or pay me later;” but there WILL be a payday, someday! Just because we choose to ignore the moral laws, doesn’t mean they don’t exist!

This is just another piece of evidence that proves snowboarding doesn’t belong in the Olympics.
It’s not a polite sport full of altar boys and doesn’t need to be, just because you wish to impose your moral code on it, or them. Snowboarding doesn’t need your approval.
Whomever is upset about this (the IOC, I assume?) needs to rethink the situation. You invited the animals to the party, and now you’re upset that some things got broke? What a surprise.
If some pro snowboarders want to “go for the gold” and behave like perfect angelic children, then I say fine, do your best and represent your country. And if others want to be true to their nature in spite of some Olympics moral or social code, then LET THE GAMES BEGIN. Because snowboarding was never meant to be polite or even really all that acceptable. It’s skating without trucks and wheels. Deal with it.

Thanks Pastorron. Regardless of the morals set by these “tweens”, what Lago did was not right. He should not have been kicked home, that was too extreme. But nonetheless, his actions were wrong, stupid and immature.
