Fresno City College Student Jumped By Cops

by The Editors on September 28, 2009

A Fresno City College student in Fresno, California was simply carrying a skateboard across the campus when a City College safety officer demanded that the student hand over the skateboard.

Cell phone video shows officers restraining the skateboarder and telling another student, wearing a white tank top, to back away. . . When he refuses, a city college officer is seen in the video chasing after him, while another appears to be swinging a baton.

Some witnesses said there were 10 to 15 officers involved. After some baton swinging and macing one student was arrested for “resisting arrest.” They always seem to use that one don’t they?

Watch The Video Fresno Police have released a new report that shows the crime rate rising, as the economy struggles.
Chief Jerry Dyer says his department can make as many arrests as necessary, but without adequate funding for the criminal justice system, its hard to keep offenders behind bars.
According to FBI statistics, violent crimes were down nationwide 1.9% from 2007 to 2008, and locally we’re down 4%, with crimes like larceny and vehicle burglaries decreasing a bit, and auto theft down 17.6%.
Contrary to the national report, Fresno is up 6.4% in total violent crime, with robberies, aggravated assaults, and domestic violence seeing increases

Gee, wonder what would have taken place if this person had just turned over the skateboard to the campus cop. Then placed a claim for it or a new skateboard later. Howw obut getting an attorney regarding the taking of his property. Then no arrest, no big incident, and maybe some money from the college. Just think aabout it. Almost everyone would likely have been with him on this. Now it is up for grabs, some with him and some against him.
