New Jersey Surfer Found Dead In The Water

by The Editors on April 12, 2012

10828193-LargePolice say Kevin McGarry, 42, of Ocean Township was found face down off the Jersey Shore’s Roosevelt Avenue Beach Wednesday afternoon April 11, 2012. He was wearing a wetsuit and still attached to his surfboard, according to a story on NJ.com.

He is not believed to have been in the water for an extended period of time when a fisherman spotted him near a rocky jetty off of Roosevelt Avenue, said borough police spokesman Capt. Earl Alexander. . . An autopsy will be conducted tomorrow to determine a cause of death, he said.

According to officials, it appears McGarry died “as the result of a surfing accident.” Our thoughts are with McGarry’s family and friends.

Danny Way’s Hawaiian Island Mega Ramp

by The Editors on April 11, 2012

Apparently, Danny Way’s ten-year-old dream has been to build his very own Mega ramp in at his house in Kauai. Looks like he’s finally done it.

Here’s the story of how Danny rediscovered his dream and brought to life this never before been constructed ramp he envisioned a decade ago.

Sadly, to see the results of this dream you’ll have to see his movie Waiting for Lightning, because this is just a teaser.

Lightning Strikes In Hollywood. . . Yes Way

by The Editors on April 11, 2012

Celebpix0411 011.Sjpg 900 540 0 95 1 50 50Last night, April 10, 2012, most everyone was in Hollywood for the premiere of the Danny Way bio-pic Waiting For Lightning at the ArcLight Cinerama Dome.

Following the premiere everyone rolled over to the for an after party at The Roosevelt Hotel.

If you (like us) missed the movie and all the Hollywood celebrity action, just click right here to see all the photos of stars like Danny Way and his Mom (above), Ken Block, Tommy Lee, The Dingo, Johnny Knoxville, Daryl Hannah, Steve-O, and Adriana Patridge.

We’re guessing there were some skaters there as well, but not many of them made the red carpet cut it seems.

The Street Ratings Downgrades Quiksilver

by The Editors on April 11, 2012

Quik Logo10Sometimes things just get uglier and uglier. The Street Ratings downgraded Quiksilver’s stock today (April 11, 2012) from a hold to a sell, accordion got a post on The Street.

The company’s weaknesses can be seen in multiple areas, such as its deteriorating net income, disappointing return on equity, weak operating cash flow, generally weak debt management and generally disappointing historical performance in the stock itself.

But the downgrade didn’t seem to bother the stock all that much. It was up a penny midday. Click the link for more of the details.
