Shaun White and friends, who seem to believe people will pay to stand out in the cold to watch the first The Snow League halfpipe contest at Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen, Colorado March 7-8, 2025, have released ticket prices.
The listed price for finals day is $50. Sounds steep, right? There’s a catch. . . if you live in Colorado (which means pretty much everyone who might go) you get half off the ticket price. So it’s actually $25.
Saturday March 8 – Finals Day (9 a.m. – 3 p.m.) – includes Big Boi Concert
General Admission tickets are $50 ($60 on March 1) – Colorado Residents can save 50% on tickets by using code CO50 on General Admission tickets. Offer expires March 1.
They claim prices will go up on March 1, however, we’re guessing they’re get down pretty close to FREE by the time the event rolls around. If you’re interested (Big Boi will be there), and you want to go, click the link for all the ticket details.

More sad snowboarding news from Utah.
On the morning of December 31, 2024, a solo splitboarder in the Silverfork Canyon area of the Salt Lake mountains triggered an avalanche on north-facing terrain below Davenport Hill at nearly 9,800 feet. The avalanche caught, carried, and fully buried him under approximately 20 feet of snow. A separate party in Little Cottonwood Canyon noticed the debris and alerted Alta Central. Search and rescue teams quickly responded, locating the individual using an avalanche transceiver. Despite their efforts, the individual tragically did not survive the accident.

Damn, it seems like only yesterday that Jason Brown was showing me the hand-inked logo for his new snowboard brand. . . but Blue, Gumby, Johan, and the C3 crew really have done an amazing job not only surviving in the snowboard business, but by the looks of their “30,000 boards in the warehouse” flex. . . thriving. Congrats.

It’s hard to keep up with the houses Shaun White is buying, but the one’s he’s selling are a little easier to track. This one, described as a “mid-century modern. . . stunner” in Los Angeles’ Outpost Estates neighborhood just sold for $3.9 million, according to a story on Realtor.com. This is down considerably from his April asking price of $5 million. What’s a million among friends. . .
…the light-filled home is lined with glass—from floor to ceiling, from walls to doors. . . The living and dining spaces are open to the kitchen, which features an L-shaped counter, wooden cabinets, and stainless-steel appliances. . . Outside, there’s an inviting pool, a fire pit, and seating areas. But it’s the views of the city that truly take the cake.

This apparently breaks the record for most expensive home sale in California state history: a record formerly held by the Jay-Z/Beyoncé Corporation at $200 million.
