Pivothead HD Video Camera Shades

by The Editors on July 15, 2012

Pivothead-1

These Pivothead shades have a built in 1080p video and 8MP still camera right in the frame so you can record absolutely everything. Gone are the days of having camera mounted to your head like a satellite antenna.

The glasses reportedly feature: Four Focus Options: Auto, Fixed, Continuous, Macro, 8GB on-board Memory, 2GB SDRAM, Still Image Capture During Video, Burst Still Image Capture, Exposure & ISO Settings, and Time Lapse Settings. We haven’t tried these out yet, but they don’t look any worse than a pair of Oakley Oil Rigs. Pivothead’s are available online for $349.00.

Vans x Alex Kopps Slippers

by The Editors on July 6, 2012

Sc Surfjitsu Kopps Natural

Artist and filmmaker Alex Kopps gets down with some ninja shiz with his new collaboration with Vans. The Surfjitsu (out this fall) comes in light tonal prints “that become more visible as the shoes get dirty and worn in.”

Kopps, whose work ranges from mixed media installations, to film, to Polaroid photography, frequently collaborates with Vans surf team riders Alex Knost and Dane Reynolds on art and video projects. Kopps also generates a lot of buzz for his long-awaited surf flick Displacement which combines 1970s Super-8 footage with abstract effects to bring the story of an obscure surf culture to life.

These slippers look super slippy for sure.

Slingshox Tunes Up The G-Shock

by The Editors on June 22, 2012

Slighshox

We’ve always loved G-Shock watches, but surfing for a week in their hard plastic bands once gave us tendinitis, so we dropped them for good. Now, all that may be a thing of the past with Slingshox. These silicon covers allow G-Shock owners to pop off the old G-Shock watchbands and slip the whole watch into a brightly-colored new housing.

“As a long-time fan and collector of G-Shock watches, it was a perfect fit to launch this strap accessory line to further push the boundaries of inspired timepieces for the fashion-conscious consumer,” said Brett Pulli, CEO of SlingShox. “ We plan to keep providing a fresh color assortment for our customer and will also be doing custom artwork collaborations that G-Shock enthusiasts will want for their own.”

Rubber covers for plastic watches. What will they think of next? The bands cost $25 and can be ordered here. Follow the jump for the details. [click to continue…]

Nixon Brings Glad Tidings Of Super Joy

by The Editors on May 16, 2012

SupertideAnyone who surfs sharp, slicing, grinder reef breaks knows that often the single most important thing to know is when the tide is right. That’s where tide watches come in. Nixon just upped their tide watch ante with their new one-piece silicone Supertide.

With pre-programmed tide charts and sunrise/sunset data for over 230 global surf spots, plus easy-to-use future tide and a heat timer, light and integrated push-button controls, it’s as fanatical about the waves as you. And on top of it all, the super-bright, high-resolution display takes this surf-specific model to another level. Available in all black, white, surplus, sky blue and red.

What else do you need? We’re always partial to white as it seems to show off our tans so nicely. . . To see the rest of the colors click the link.

The Hundreds Goes Hawaiian

by The Editors on May 10, 2012

Hang Loose Hi

On Saturday, May 19, 2012 Bobby Hundreds is going to help kick off The Hundreds Hawaii Capsule Collection at Prototype Pearlridge in Aiea. There are three tees in the collection, but our favorite is the skeleton shaka shirt:

Hang loose! That saying basically originated on the islands of Hawaii, meaning “relax” and “kick back,” more or less. The Loose tee features a skeleton hand graphic in the shape of the “hang loose” hand sign, with The Hundreds logo at the top. Solid Bomb logo at top back.

Bobby’s going to be at Prototype from 2 to 4 PM on Saturday, May 19, 2012, but the shirts are available exclusive at “authorized Hawaiian The Hundreds retailers” like: Blue Hawaii, Island Snow, Sindication, One Eighty Boardshop, and EightRocks. Kind of makes us which we were on an island in the Pacific sipping. . .
