Leatherman, makers of the fine folding multi-tools favored by Hollywood grips and handymen alike, has apparently been working with Signal Snowboards, Girl Skateboards, and Korduroy.TV on a new selection of multi-tools designed specifically for snowboarding, skateboarding, and surfing. The snowboarding tools are already out, but here’s a little sneak on the skate tools:
The Grind and Jam skate tools are designed specifically for assembling and maintaining a board—adjusting/setting trucks, tightening bolts, filing grip tape, etc.—and fall into the company’s PocketTool line. The Jam can be used in conjunction with the Leatherman Style® PS mini-multi-tool, by just snapping it into the frame of the Jam. These single-piece tools are lightweight, fit easily in a pocket, or clip onto a belt loop. Users can skate with the tools on, or clip them to a bag. In addition to the pocket tools, Leatherman will also be releasing a black pocket knife set, one with a blade only and the other with an integrated set of screwdrivers. Both knives have a storable carabiner to carry/open a bottle and a Blade Launcher™ system for quick-deploy.

We’re always suckers for Devo and John Cardiel for that matter, so when we saw this three-way collab between Chrome Industries, Cardiel and Japan’s skate/fixie crew T19 on a Chrome ORP with a Devo soundtrack we couldn’t pass. Presenting the Cardiel Orp by T19.
The T19 ORP features T19’s signature blue and a custom T19 patch designed by pro skater & graffiti artist Hirotaka Sasao, a.k.a. “Chaka”. Originally developed in collaboration with John Cardiel, the Operation Readiness Pack (ORP) is lightweight and water-resistant. It can be used as a daypack or rolled up and stowed in another bag for travel ease. Features include 100% taped seams for increased water resistance, a roll top closure to accommodate a range of cargo sizes with side compression straps for improved packability, and an internal laptop pocket that fits up to 13″ laptop (Chrome Laptop Sleeve or Tactical Sleeve recommended).
We don’t even care how silly this video is. So there.
In the never ending battle to look core, Volcom has announced some “exclusive” shoes with both Tilly’s and Zumiez. You know, to make the retail outlets feel good about Volcom’s other larger retail channels. Apparently, the Grim Mid is exclusively available at Tillys.com and the Grim Black & Charcoal Suede Shoe is available only at Zumiez. We can’t really tell the shoes apart, but apparently Volcom is expecting shoppers to make the pilgrimage to one store or the other to get the model they want. What? It could happen. We can’t all wear Vans or Nikes.

olloclip, makers of our favorite fisheye wide angle lens adapter for the iPhone 4s & 5, announced today that they are moving iPhone photographers 2x closer (and giving them some depth of field) with the release of their new telephoto lens.
The olloclip telephoto lens is especially valuable for the serious photographer seeking to achieve certain effects and more professional results. In addition to getting you twice as close to your subject, the lens provides a more creative depth of field so you can use selective focus to make your subjects stand out distinctly from their backgrounds (especially useful when the background is cluttered or distracting).
The telephoto also comes with a circular polarizing lens to allow for light and color adjustments on the fly. The telephoto lens package sells for $99.99 and is available for pre-order on July 30, 2013. The wide angle costs $69.99. Both are well worth the price. Eagle, Idaho’s Proof Eyewear has dropped their 2013 Spring/Summer collection and some of the frames are fashioned from “repurposed skateboard decks” and the multicolored layers look smooth.
The Bud sunglass (shown above) is a modern classic shaped frame. The Bud is part of the Skateboard collection which is handcrafted and assembled from 5 ply canadian maple skateboard decks. This unique skateboard construction makes them very durable and one of a kind. Each frame is hand polished and coated with a water/sweat protective seal.
Wonder how easy these are to focus when you just can’t land? Either way, they look pretty good. Check ’em out on Proof’s website.
