Matix + Skateboarder Mag = Covers Collab

by The Editors on April 29, 2014

Matix Sbm 2

Seems lately there’s nothing more retro than a magazine. And Matix and picked up on that groove and produced a collection of shirts and skateboards that repurpose the iconographic 1970s Skateboarder Magazine cover images and use them art on their new Skateboarder Mag clothing collection.

We’re not sure how the kids are going to feel about clothing featuring the logo of a magazine that went out of business less than a year ago, but there will be a few rad dads who’ll likely tear up at the memories that these cover images bring back — Rector gloves, Road Rider wheels, and Logan Earth Skis.

The good news for dads is that it’s all for sale right now on the Matix website. Shirts go for $38, tanks $28 and decks for $55. The covers dress shirt may be our favorite. To check out the entire collection, follow the jump.

Little League Dad Goes Skateboarding

by The Editors on April 29, 2014

With the rise of the mirage of epic riches in professional skateboarding it seems some little league dads are beginning to think that pushing their kids into skateboarding could be the way to be set for life. This Dad at Kona Skatepark was apparently not happy with the way his 6-year-old’s skate career was progressing so he kicked him into the vert ramp just as he was about ready to drop in. Don’t know how this dude lives with himself. Florida strikes again.

It all goes live on the web tomorrow April 30, 2014. For the rest of the story, follow the link to The Devil’s Toy Redux website.

by The Editors on April 25, 2014

Ar4T Pendleton

The opening reception for Don Pendleton, Ferris Plock, and Jason Adams’ group art show Distance Decay and Time Space Compression is May 3, 2014 beginning at 6 PM.

The gallery is proud to present this group survey on moving across mental states, international borders, state lines, genres and societal expectations that shows three larger-than-life journeys coming together for a moment in time. . . As American artists from the same generation, Pendleton, Plock, and Adams use paint and wood, and all three have personal backgrounds in skateboarding – and that’s where similarities end and differences begin – which is how the exhibition gets its title.

Artists Republic 4 Tomorrow is located at 1175 South Coast Hwy, in Laguna Beach, California. For the official word from AR4T, follow the jump. [click to continue…]

The Dingo On Richest Action Athletes

by The Editors on April 17, 2014

The Dingo sits across from a pair of talking boobs and outlines who he believes are the richest action sports stars of all time on some sports show called The Fumble Rumble. He appears just a little distracted by the entire operation. And that is apparently the point of the show entirely.
