Throughout June, the Tony Hawk Foundation is partnering with CrowdRise to celebrate International Go Skateboarding Day all month long by raising funds for communities building free, public skateparks. 100% of money raised though this campaign will directly fund skatepark projects across the U.S.
By helping out, you have a chance to win my signed skateboard deck, or two VIP Tickets to our exclusive Stand Up For Skateparks benefit taking place on October 11, 2015. . . Starting is easy, just go to www.crowdrise.com/MakeConcreteChange and click the “Fundraise for this Campaign” button to get started. It should take 30 seconds. . . Once you’ve established your fundraiser, make sure to update it with the story of why you support THF. The more personal and compelling your story, the more likely you are to get donations.
Help out and maybe win something cool. It’s a win-win. For the official word from Tony Hawk, please follow the jump. [click to continue…]

Musicians have three basic jobs — create music, play music, and sell anything they can that has their logo on it. French EDM legends Daft Punk have decided that what you really need from them is a cruiser board covered in Daft Punk logos, according to a story on Gigwise.
“These artisanal skateboard decks are handmade in France of molded beechwood by Hervet-Manufacturier. The board is clad with Formica laminate on both sides. The top face is laser engraved with a “grip effect” repeated logo pattern. The bottom is a 2 color inlayed logo. Limited to a series of 25 units per color way with a laser etched edition number.” The price is $280.
Buy it, use it, break it, fix it, trash it, change it, mail – upgrade it. Just make sure to pay them on the way.
We haven’t really figured any reason to carry an iPad or and iPad Mini around with us when we already have our phone. But Sean Malto rocks his all the time and apparently didn’t have a nice way to keep it protected while on the road.
Incase helped him out with that in the form of the Incase x Sean Malto Field Bag. It’s got a padded main zippered enclosure and a flip down flap that makes using the iPad mini possible without even opening the bag. There’s even a hole for the camera.
“Whether we’re filming locally or across the globe, I’m always looking for ways to minimize what I carry when I travel and wanted something clean yet super functional without having to carry a larger bag,” says Malto. “The team at Incase and I were able to build something that delivers exactly what I use day in and day out with simple lines, total protection and ideal organization.”
For the official word from Incase, including all the details on this $99.95 bag, follow the jump. [click to continue…]
These are days of miracles and selfies. . . the way the camera follows us in slo-mo it’s no wonder we all need to get the shot from a better angle. Greg Lutzka knows this better than most and that’s likely why he has just signed with GoPro camera accessory leader GoPole.
Lutzka will be joining some of the world’s top action sports athletes including surfer Jamie O’Brien, wakeboarder Josh Palma and snowboarder Tim Humphreys to help promote and support action footage captured utilizing GoPole products. Skateboarding is an essential part of GoPole’s mission to push the progression and diversity within action sports and adding Lutzka, who has a reputation of being one of the hardest working skateboarders in the industry, will only solidify their efforts.
Nyjah Huston continued his seemingly unstoppable winning ways at the SLS Nike SB Pro Barcelona over the weekend. Yeah, Nyjah.
“I always tend to put myself in the most challenging situations when it comes to winning Street League finals. This was one of the gnarliest, most nerve racking situations I’ve ever been in, and was especially tough since it came down to the last try after I missed a few times,” Huston said. “I’m really stoked it worked out in the end – great way to start off the season”

Okay, we’re going to show our console color here for a minute, but Activision has officially announced that the stalled Tony Hawk Pro Skater franchise is back in action and will be released on PS4 and Xbox One later this year and also for PS3 and Xbox 360 after that.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 will be employing the core gameplay of the first four titles of the series, hence it retained the “Pro Skater” title. This game will see the additions of power-ups and shooting projectiles in specific additions while the developers promise that the gameplay will be finely tuned. . . . There will be new set of levels with objectives. The missions can be completed either alone or with friends through online co-op. There is also multiplayer competitive play. Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 can be played with either friends or strangers or the combination of both.
Skaters featured in the game will include: Nyjah Huston, Aaron Homoki, Ishod Wair, Riley Hawk, Lizzie Armanto, Chris Cole, David Gonzalez, Leticia Bufoni, and Andrew Reynolds. But what about Wii U? Nope. Apparently there’s no love for Nintendo at the Pro Skater house.
