Klen Laundry and the skate deck reclamation artists Timber have created a limited edition collab belt buckle made out of old skate decks called the Hostage.
With this new KLeN belt buckle made from old skate decks you’ll never be so excited to have a skateboard near your crotch! . . . Show off your love for skateboarding, recycling and all things KLeN.
“Fuck. You couldn’t pay me a million dollars to wear one of those logos on my forehead. Their shit is fucked. It’s cool for those guys; they make a lot of money. I despise logos and I think it’s contractual if you sign up for one of those things that every time you’re on your board you have to have one of their logos near or on your body; it’s kind of retarded. They make little stickers that look like your shirt tags and you’re supposed to put them on you. It’s retarded. I don’t understand the Nascar outfit. The whole race car uniform shit just blows my mind. But all those dudes are rich now so kudos to them.”
We must be the last people on earth to have seen these plastic soldiers re-imagined as skateboarders. Hopefully AJ’s Toy Boarders will hurry up with his surf and snow models . . . click here to buy.
It’s nice that Gravis is making shoes that someone can skate it. Isn’t it? Burton hasn’t ditched skateboarding entirely. These are the Quarters LX. If you were wondering.
Confirming the previous purchase buzz, Dyrdek has been in discussion with Burton and DNA Distribution through out the last year. “It’s hard to put into words what an amazing opportunity this is for me, I am extremely proud to now own the company that first sponsored me 20 years ago,” stated Dyrdek, President of Dyrdek Enterprises. “DNA has truly amazing brands that have incredible growth potential, and I look forward to help guiding these brands over the next 20 years.”
DNA was a Burton purchase we never really understood, and now it’s over. Chris Carter will continue on at DNA in Dayton, Ohio while “Dyrdek will consult directly on all marketing and creative from his Los Angeles based office.”
Aaron Salta, a musician from Geelong, Australia, who is trying to skateboard 2,000 km to “raise awareness about depression,” got a ticket today (April 17, 2012), according to a story in the Herald Sun.
Mr Salta, 30, [was] less than 200km north of his destination of Adelaide. . . [when a] a South Australian motorcycle police officer . . . fined him $108 for riding a “toy” on a road that has a speed limit greater than 50km/h.
We have to admit, Salta does look like he’s just begging for police harassment, doesn’t he?
