Leticia Bufoni Heats Up Men’s Health

by The Editors on February 13, 2014

Leticiabufoni4

We’ve seen Leticia Bufoni skate and she kills. She’s won the women’s World Cup State street title four times. Now, she’s dropping a little something else in the pages of Men’s Health & Fitness Brazil. “Confira maid foots da garota MH de fevereiro,” it says. Apparently, that means “Check out more photos of the MH February Girl.” So we did and we’re having a rough time connecting these photos with the girl we used to see bombing the street course in black jeans, a tank top, and a black bandana . . click the link for the rest .

20plus Years of Jody Morris Skate Photos

by The Editors on February 10, 2014

Legendary skateboard photographer Jody Morris has collected his photos into an elegant, lovely hard bound book titled 20plus. Featuring photos from two decades of skateboarding 20plus is a necessary addition to every skate library.
Here’s what skateboarding documentarian Sean Mortimer has to say about the book:

Morris’ unifying love of skating is clearly seen through his images as Skid Row skaters are snapped alongside legends like Tony Hawk and Danny Way. Morris’ close relationship with his subjects allows for rare images of iconic skaters lounging in graffiti scrawled tour vans, shredding abandoned buildings, avoiding dessert dust storms. . . It’s Morris’ rare ability to blend the culture into the action that makes him one of the most sought after action sports photographers. With over 70 magazine covers to his name, 20 PLUS is loaded with definitive images from an insulated culture.

20plus is available online at Half Acre Paper for $39.95. Click the link to purchase, or follow the jump for more info. [click to continue…]

McNamara Drives His Mercedes At Nazaré

by The Editors on February 7, 2014

Garret McNamara’s car sponsor is apparently Mercedes Benz (not bad), but that was only on the road. Now, according to a story on DesignBoom, the company’s ad agency (BBDO Portugal) wanted to get the Mercedes branding into the water with him. And they did that just last week on February 2, 2014 in Portugal.

For the first time, technicians, engineers and designers at mercedes-benz AMG in stuttgart developed a surfboard with a built in telemetry system capable of measuring surfing performance. the board was created specifically for Garrett McNamara’s trademark riding style and tailored for catching big waves.

Looks like the board worked, but we can’t say it was the best wave we’ve seen from Nazaré. And where’s the “telemetry data”? Guess they’re not sharing it just yet. For more photos of the Benz surfboard, follow the jump. [click to continue…]
