Agenda Show Registration Is Now Open

by The Editors on April 24, 2018

Still go to trade shows? Then you should probably click the red rectangle and get yerself set up for Agenda Long Beach June 28 -30, 2018. We hear Brockhampton and Lil Yachty will be there along with our new favorite musicians Activations, Pop-Up Shops, and Panels. Oh, wait, those last three aren’t musicians they’re the other stuff going on at the Agenda Festival. Our bad. Wonder if Aaron Levant will be there? Thinking that last thought was the only reason we posted this in the first place. Follow the jump for all the official details from Reed Exhibitions.

Agenda Show NYC Starts Tomorrow

by The Editors on January 21, 2014

agenda_nyc_2014

Just checked the weather for New York City over the next two days. The current temp is 18 and it should be up to 19 tomorrow with a low of 5 tonight. The good news comes in twos:  it’s supposed to stop snowing on Wednesday and if you’re in the city you’ll have a great place to hang and look at a kinds of gear for warmer weather, the Agenda Show. Think of it as an island of summer right in the middle of frosty Manhattan.

Agenda Show 2014: Optimism Everywhere

Tim Gavin was on the front steps of the Long Beach Convention Center with a couple of friends when we rolled up for the Agenda Show on the morning of January 7, 2014. He was wearing a Filament T-shirt and telling another friend to be sure and come by the booth. “Stop by later,” he said. “It’s booth N-13.”

It likely wasn’t his plan (we didn’t even speak with him), but the industry veteran put us in an optimistic mood from the start. If Gavin were a different sort of man we’re sure he could come up with plenty of excuses to stay away from what is now the largest action fashion and skateboarding show on the West Coast. He’s done this gig before. He’s built and run extremely successful brands (DVS, Matix) and he’s seen them slip away into “reorganization.” But there he was, out front at the show with a new skate shoe brand and a head full of lessons learned the last time around.

It’s seems 2013 is the year of rebirth for many people. Paul Naude is in a similar, though much more high profile, position himself. After building the Billabong USA business up from next to nothing after licensee Bob Hurley started Hurley International in 1999, Naude saw the ship he helped sail nearly sink in heavy financial seas. After a failed attempt to buy Billabong, Naude could have taken some time to “pursue other interests,” however he was out in the Agenda Show aisles putting his considerable reputation and might behind two new brands Vissla and D’Blanc and helping action women’s fashion veterans Mandy Fry and Summer Rapp with their soon-to-launch women’s line.

Agenda Show Heats Up A Cold City

by The Editors on January 23, 2013

We should have known when we boarded our flight to NYC just behind two penguins (in pet carriers, seriously) that it was going to be a cold, cold week in New York City. As the Agenda Show NYC opened their doors at 9 AM on January 23, 2013 the temperature on the street outside 82 Mercer St. was hovering in the mid teens and the entire city seemed to be bundled up like Arctic explorers on business trips. Inside the brick walled Agenda space, however, more than 120 street, skate, and even snow brands heated things right up. The free coffee didn’t hurt either.

Each year the Agenda NYC show becomes a more important gathering for street brands and East Coast action and style retailers, and no one was going to let the Manhattan deep freeze keep them off their Agenda game. Click the link for a full photo gallery and you’ll see what we mean.
