by The Editors on December 7, 2015

Zumiez dropped this Supra “branded experience” on 50 lucky mall shoppers. Forty-eight hours at Woodward West with these cats wouldn’t be such a bad deal, huh? That’s just one of the ways that Zumiez gives back, and we’d take it for sure.

Zumiez Stock Takes A Dip

by The Editors on November 30, 2012

Zumiez-NotaglineAfter announcing that it’s back-to-school sales were softer in the third quarter Zumiez shares fell in after-hours trading by seven percent on Thursday evening November 29, 2012, according to a story on Bloomberg Businessweek.

Zumiez reported net income of $12.7 million, or 40 cents per share, for the period that ended Oct. 29. This is down from $14.1 million, or 45 cents per share, in the third quarter of the prior year. The most recent quarter included 10 cents per share in costs tied to its acquisition of Blue Tomato and 1 cent per share of costs tied with its relocation of its corporate offices to Lynnwood, Wash.

The company blamed a drop in November sales on Superstorm Sandy. Why not? Zumiez stock bounced a little this morning and honestly, minor dips of this size are barely worth mentioning. But we already typed it in this far (and you’re reading it) so whateves.

Girl Gang Robs Texas Zumiez

by The Editors on October 3, 2012

A group of teen girls and their male getaway driver attempted to rip off a Pearland, Texas Zumiez store (even roughing up an employee) but they didn’t get far, according to a story on KTRK.com.

Police say it all started a few minutes earlier inside a Pearland Town Center shoe and clothing store when 18-year old Ashley Jackson, 17-year old Chrishonta Reshard and 19-year-old Angel Martin came in with plans to shoplift. . . “Chrishonta Reshard began selecting items just at random, just grabs T-shirts and starts stacking them in her arms,” Pearland Police Department Lt. Onesimo Lopez said. . . But police say a suspicious store employee jumped into action, blocking the door when she noticed two of the three girls trying to run out of the store with bags of clothes. . . “One girl charged at her like a linebacker, hits the clerk at the door — hits her hard enough to run into the door, push her out on the sidewalk and fall over a sign outside,” Lt. Lopez said.

Note to Zumiez: please make sure this employee gets to the 100k this year.
