The search for missing Kauai surfer Aaron Lamson, 34, of Moloa’a has been called off after crews spent two unsuccessful days looking for the man, according to a story in the The Garden Island.
The missing man. . . who lost his surfboard at around 1:41 Friday afternoon at a spot called “Crack 14” and has not been seen since then. “Anyone with new information about the missing surfer is urged to call us,” said Kaua‘i Fire Chief Robert Westerman. . . . “We are prepared to immediately switch from passive to active mode and resume the search.”
Our thoughts are with Aaron’s friends and family.

Thank you to everyone for all your kind words and your thoughts and prays for sofia and our family. Today on March 20th we had a celebration of Aarons life on the island of Kauai. It was very beautiful. We all shared our thoughts and feelings about Aaron and how he has touched our lifes in so many ways. We laughed, we cryed, we had silent time to think of our most special thoughts of Aaron. Everyone here on Kauai had so many kind and wonderful words about Aaron. We all placed flowers in the ocean and some proceeded into the ocean on surf boards, kayaks, and paddle boards to place more flowers farther out in the sea, with a moment of silence out there as well. Everyone cheered for Aaron, in remembrance of him and how he loved the sea. We had some special songs sang today with the special song sang by his wife sofia which was there wedding song. Aaron lived his life to the fullest, embracing everything life had to offer. His wife Sofia and his family loved Aaron more then words could ever say. We will miss him so much, but we will cherish all that Aaron was. we will embrace everything he loved and has taught us in his life. We love you Aaron!!!!
Mary, I am so sorry to hear about Aaron. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Sofia and the rest of the family.

Words just don’t seem to come to our lips when things like this in life happen, life just does not make any sense, when such a special, wonderful man is taken from us so early in life, it makes us stop and gaspe and try and gain our composure once again. He is a special man and will truly be missed by all those who knew him, shared in his life and were touched by what an amazing man and person he is and will always be. Our deepest sympathy and many prayers are with you all during this very sad time.
Your friends forever-
Annelise and Family
I knew Aaron when we used to work together in Port Alsworth Alaska. He had a huge impact on my life and I will miss him a lot. My prayers are with all of Aaron’s family and friends.
Here it is 3 years later, and I still can’t wrap my head around this at all. I find myself drawn to this maybe looking for answers, I don’t know!!!! Never found a body, no closure. Tired of people commenting “get over it”, “let him go”. So far away from it all. Never had to deal with this sort of thing before. I guess I’ll have my answers when I meet my maker. But this does not help for the time being!!
