Upland Skatepark Finally Re-Opens

by The Editors on March 28, 2017

The Upland Skatepark, which has been closed since November 2016 thanks to what the City of Upland calls “crime and safety issues,” finally reopened in mid March 2017, according to a story in the Daily Bulletin.

Professional skateboarder Steve Alba, a Rancho Cucamonga resident who helped design the 15-year-old park, had been a vocal advocate for its immediate reopening on behalf of the skate park patrons. “I’m just very happy that they opened it finally,” Alba said by phone. “I commend the city and the Police Department for helping clean the park out. They’ve done a great job.”

Pro-Tec Helmets even kicked in 20 helmets to be used at the park on an honor system. It’s good to see a great park back in action.
