On May 12, 2017 Bob Mohr, Greg Weaver, Kim Cespedes, Vicki Vikers, Russ Howell, Shogo Kubo, Mike McGill, Eric Dressen, and Daewon Song are getting inducted into the International Skateboarding Hall of Fame and you can be there to see it. The ISHOF presentation, held at City National Grove of Anaheim, will be open to the public for the first time this year. . .

. . . so fans can honor their favorite skateboarding legends, watch them be inducted into the hall of fame, and even mingle with VIPs in the action sports industry. The night will include a happy hour, VIP meet-and-greet, VIP dinner and awards ceremony, with a musical performance by legendary 80’s skateboarder, Ray Barbee. All proceeds benefit the not-for-profit efforts of the Skateboarding Hall of Fame and the Go Skateboarding Foundation.

That Warren Bolster Skateboarder Magazine cover of Greg Weaver carving a pool barefoot is so hardwired into our adolescent brains that it’s impossible to see his name without drifting off on a wave of stoke. . . . As SHOF continues to grow and be a driving force in the industry, a Skateboarding Hall of Fame Executive Committee has been formed to guide the future of the SHOF. The committee includes; Todd Huber, executive director of SHOF; professional skateboarder David Hackett; past SHOF inductees, Lance Mountain, Steve Olson, Laura Thornhill-Caswell and Jim Muir; and Thomas Barker, IASC’s executive director.

“We are super excited to be back at an amazing venue like the City National Grove of Anaheim celebrating Skateboarding Hall of Fame’s eighth year,” Barker said. “I’m honored to be guiding the SHOF with this dedicated group of skateboarders involved on the executive committee. We are all excited about this year’s inductees and seeing the SHOF gain momentum into the future.”

Created in 2009, The Skateboarding Hall of Fame recognizes and honors the history of skateboarding and influential figures who have significantly shaped skateboarding and its culture throughout the years. Selection for the Skateboarding Hall of Fame isn’t wholly determined by seasons, contest results or stats. Above all else, innovation, influence and creativity are honored as the drivers at the heart of skateboarding’s constant evolution. The Skateboarding Hall of Fame and Icon Awards Ceremony is a production of the International Association of Skateboard Companies’ Go Skateboarding Foundation under license from the International Skateboarding Hall of Fame™.
