Especially if you live near NYC, LA, Boston, or Toronto.

NORTH ANDOVER, MASS. – (JULY 24, 2014) – Today, CONVERSE Inc. announced the continuation of its North American CONS Project, a series of global community workshops designed to inspire the next generation of creative spirits through skate, art, and music workshops taking place in New York, Los Angeles, Boston, and Toronto. Demonstrating the brand’s continuous dedication to fueling creativity all over the globe, Converse will continue to bring to life the CONS Project story on a larger scale, activating five single workshops themes in each market throughout the course of the year.

Following the success of previous CONS Project workshops in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and Toronto, the upcoming CONS Project workshops will adapt a new format over the next seven months – each month will take on a new workshop theme, activating in each market over two consecutive weekends. The creative seminars will offer tangible, hands-on lessons for local youth ranging from ages 16 and up, at no cost. Led by an expert roster of renowned legends and up-and-coming superstars alike, each CONS Project workshop is set to focus on various aspects within the CONS lifestyle.

“Building Skate Structures” – Learn how to create and design skate-able structures such as mini-ramps, quarter pipes, barriers, and more from the CONS Skate Team, local skate shop partners, and local artists

o CONS Project: Boston & CONS Project: Toronto – August 16

“Filming Skate Videos” – Learn the skills of filming and producing professional skate videos, utilizing a variety of cameras and editing tools with local skate directors
o CONS Project: New York & CONS Project: Los Angeles – October 4

o CONS Project: Boston & CONS Project: Toronto – October 18

From later in the fall of 2014 through early spring 2015, the following workshops are slated to take place:

“DIY: Creative Recycling – Learn how to create musical instruments from recycled materials and objects – Fall 2014
“In-Studio Recording & Remixing” – Learn how to to write, record, and remix original tracks with musical artists and producers – Winter 2014
“Making & Designing Skate Decks” – Learn how to create unique skate decks with local artists and skate deck designers – Early Spring 2015
Following the completion of the workshops, the CONS Project program will culminate with collaborative skate, art, and music exhibition events in each city in April and May 2015. The events will showcase the creative output from local participants including innovative skate videos, adorned skate structures and decks, unique instruments, and original recorded tracks. Each of the events will celebrate the thriving creative community that exists in that city, while also featuring musical performances by renowned artists across varying genres.
