Asher Bradshaw Lands 900 At 9

by The Editors on May 30, 2014

Asher Bradshaw, the 9-year-old skateboarding wunderkinder has kind of blown the whole 900 thing up by landing it at his age. Say what you will about underground baby racing, but this is truly impressive.

Follow the jump for the official Camp Woodward version of this record breaking spin.Asher Bradshaw – The youngest ever member of the 900 club. Ten year old skateboarder lands a 900 on a vert ramp at Woodward West.

Woodward West, Tehachapi, CA – May 30, 2014 – In 1999, four years before Asher Bradshaw was even born, Tony Hawk cemented his legend status by becoming the first skateboarder to land a 900 (at the X Games). The 900 is a skateboard trick consisting of two and half full spins before landing. It is probably the most famous and certainly one of the hardest tricks to perform in skateboarding. At ten years old, Los Angeles resident Asher Bradshaw is the youngest rider, by two years, to land a 900.

Tom Schaar was the previous youngest athlete to land a 900 when he landed his at the age of twelve. Tom went on to be the first athlete to land a 1080 on a skateboard (one of two people to ever land a 1080).

Asher landed his 900 on a vert ramp at Woodward West, the world’s leading action sports training camp in Tehachapi, California.

When Asher’s dad Tom asked him how he felt, his response was “Great, I can’t believe I landed it…it felt awesome!”

Asher’s 900 follows his recent third place at the Vans Amatuer Combi Pool contest where he was competing against the world’s top riders who are under fourteen years old.

When he heard the news, double X Games gold medalist Jake Brown said “Asher is the future…. now more people will know it. I can’t wait to see what’s next…Respect!”

Asher is currently supported by Element Skateboards & Clothing, Puma, Independent Trucks, Grizzly Grip, Diamond, S-One Helmets, Go-Pro and Camp Woodward.
