6A00D8341C630A53Ef0168E7Ec4591970C-600Wi-1Shepard Fairey could have some jail time coming after entering a plea of “guilty” in a criminal case with the Associated Press, according to a post on the LA Times Blog.

The artist pled guilty in a New York court to one count of criminal contempt for destroying documents, manufacturing evidence and other misconduct in his case involving his “Hope” poster of Barack Obama. . . Fairey admitted in 2009 to destroying documents and submitting false images in his legal battle with the AP.

Sounds like Shepard is going the Martha Stewart route. It wasn’t stealing the photo that got him, it was “destroying documents” and “manufacturing evidence.” According to the story, Fairey will be sentenced July 16, 2012 and could get 6 months is prison and a $5,000 fine.

After all he has done and accomplished he will be remembered as a liar for no reason! e started a great battle against the AP and it was all a lie! All the work he does now I just think is for money and fame! I will never be rich or famous but if I had half of what he has I would be great for life but it never stops for people that become famous! It really seems that they sell there soul! And his limited edition prints are only limited in each Country he is in,he sells the same prints over seas with different edition number! So don’t think you got one of his prints by luck because it all is him being a selfish liar too! So basically when you think you got one of 300 prints ur wrong because the other dealers like V1 GALLERY in Copenhagen sells another edition of the same print you got by luck on the Internet!
