The Triple Crown of Surfing Sweepstakes
HONOLULU (October 19, 2011) — With less than four weeks until the start of the 2011 Vans Triple Crown of Surfing, presented by Rockstar Energy Drink gets underway, the official Vans Triple Crown of Surfing website is live. The 29th annual Vans Triple Crown of Surfing will run from November 12th through December 20th along Oahu’s North Shore during its famous big wave winter season.
The updated website, with original artwork, a clean look and easy navigation among all three events, features the latest Triple Crown news updates, visitor information, and event photos and videos. When the series begins, the website will also feature The Daily Morning Show every day at 7:15 a.m. HST live from the event site; live contest webcast; recap competition highlights; results; and offer daily video and photo updates. As the contest nears, Vans will debut Vans Live 2.0 allowing iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users to experience live Vans Triple Crown of Surfing action while on the go. The app will be available for download on vanstriplecrownofsurfing.com and the iTunes store prior to this year’s events.
The 2011 Vans Triple Crown of Surfing will also host two viewer sweepstakes. The Triple Crown of Surfing Sweepstakes, held from October 1 through November 15, is a chance for two viewers to win an expenses paid trip to the North Shore of Oahu for the Billabong Pipe Masters, as well as $500 of Vans gear and a year supply of Rockstar Energy Drink. During the Pipe Masters, viewers can also win VonZipper shades in the VonZipper Say What?

This year, the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing has a total prize purse of $830,000. The Triple Crown Champion will also take home a one-of-a-kind custom Nixon watch valued at more than $10,000. This all black ceramic 51-30 automatic Swiss made mechanical movement watch is adorned with 78 black diamonds on the bezel as well as 6 black sapphires, 12 black diamonds and a powder coated Hawaiian flag on the dial. The crystal is made of sapphire and the case and case back feature custom engraving of the Nixon WTA logo, Hawaiian flag and special award winner message.
The Triple Crown Champion is the surfer who accumulates the most points during the three events over the course of the six weeks on the North Shore. The events of the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing are:
