Every month Volcom’s Chairman and CEO Richard Woolcott sells some of his personal shares of Volcom stock. Occasionally, we like to check in on the totals. Here’s what he’s been selling lately, according to GuruFocus.com.
July 14, 2010 20,000 shares at $19.44 ($388,800)
July 27, 2010 20,000 shares at $20.00 ($400,000)
August 16, 2010 10,000 shares at 16.04 ($160,400)
August 24, 2010 10,000 shares at $15.32 ($153,200)
September 14, 2010 10,000 shares at $17.49 ($174,900)
September 24, 10,000 shares at $17.88 ($178,800)
That means he’s sold 80,000 shares in the last three months and turned that into $1.4 million in cash. But don’t worry. Wooly still has at least 2,730,932 shares left. And at today’s trading price that’s worth a little over $50 million. This brings to an end our Monday afternoon pep talk.

he’s officially Established kids! He’s living the dream, yes, money can get you waves at pipe, hot chicks and super nice/ rad friends. He’s actually humble too, we totally hang out- he’s down to earth. call him wooly if you see him at pipe this winter. Now go scribble on your white t-shirt and be rebellious and stuff (see droid for example)
Maybe coo and humble, but he sold out .no more youth against establishment.
I hope you feel it was worth it wooly
First off, I wouldn’t call him a sellout. He did what he wanted, and he got paid for it. Secondly, don’t act like you wouldn’t take $50 million for a company you started. He started something original, and he stuck to it for 21 years. He deserves it, if you ask me. It’s a company, not a punk band. Volcom employees hundreds, maybe thousands, of people. Where would some of these people & this industry be without this company?
sorry, but your a sell out when you live by the theme “youth against establishment”, and all your big accounts are the establishment. I don’t care how much money it is. Its still called a sell out. Company , punk band, it could be either. That a bunch of bs that they had to sell out so they could advertise and all that crap. They were the # 1 brand in all the best stores. Now who are they? A bunch of sell outs justifying their actions. Its cut and dry. For the record I am sure its more than 50 mil, but not the same company. Its in every lame store in the country.
THATS THE REAL TRUTH
