Sheckler, Lasek, and Cabellero On A Stick

100103Bellon Biz T352It seems like forever since Michael Bellon started marketing his Ryan Sheckler Omnitec action figure. Now, the 37-year-old inventor has gotten his toy into some major retailers and is looking to expand with more skateboarders, according to a story in the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Bellon is hoping for a huge 2010. With the help of Bellon’s childhood friend and pro skateboarder Darin “Cookiehead” Jenkins, who is the Action Sports Toys ambassador, the toy line will grow to include Bucky Lasek and Steve Caballero, two big names on the pro skateboard tour. . . Jenkins was really excited by the toy’s potential but wanted to feel out his fellow skateboarders first. . . “If you approach them wrong, they will shut you down,” he said. . . When he had the opportunity to show the action figure to Caballero, Jenkins said he told him “everybody needs a Steve Caballero action figure.”

That may be true, but we think we’d have more fun with little Bucky.
