Makua Rothman got to drag Rihanna around on the back of his Kawasaki watercraft recently. Apparently, Rihanna likes “jet skis” according to the Daily Mail.
The Diamonds In The Sky star showed off her bikini body as she indulged in her favourite pastime, jet-skiing, with pro surfer Makua Rothman. . .The pop star was seen holding onto the back of a jet-ski as Rothman sped around the Hawaiian waters. . . Wearing a rash vest, orange and pink bikini bottoms, and a life vest, Rihanna beamed as she went on the wild ride.

Black Flag songwriter and SST Records founder Greg Ginn has reportedly teamed up with Mike Vallely on a new band called Good for You, according to a post on Punknews.org.
The band, dubbed Good for You, recorded their debut at Ginn’s Casa Destroy Studios in Taylor, TX. It’s called Life is Too Short to Not Hold a Grudge and is due out February 26, 2013 via SST Records. The two first collaborated when Mike performed the entirety of My War for shows with a band featuring Ginn, Dez Cadena, Dale Nixon and Ducket.

The official cause of death for Stacy Peralta’s 22-year-old son Austin on November 21, 2012 has not been stated publicly, and the LA County Corner’s office won’t release their report until later this month, but that hasn’t stopped the LA Weekly from covering the jazz piano prodigy’s last night behind the keyboard and the rest of his life with a profile that is well worth reading.
The last song Peralta played that night, Nov. 20, 2012, was Charles Mingus‘ “Goodbye Pork Pie Hat.” He tore into the tribute to jazz great Lester Young, for which Joni Mitchell later wrote lyrics. (“You know someone great has gone/The sweetest swinging music man…”) Natasha Agrama, who was singing, later said Peralta’s playing on that piece left her fundamentally altered.
Our thoughts remain with the Peralta family. We wish them continued strength and peace in the New Year.
The event is an inclusive ski and ride day where Red Mountain Resort will donate 50 per cent of its day ticket revenue to help raise funds for several of B4BC’s initiatives, including scholarships through the Survivorship Fund to ReTreat Yourself, a yoga, ski and snowboard retreat for women who have been affected by breast cancer.

You have two days left to bid on one of Tony Hawk’s Boards + Bands memorabilia collab auctions to raise money for the Tony Hawk Foundation and its mission to help build skateparks.
The Boards + Bands fundraising initiative merges the worlds of skateboarding and music to benefit the work of the Tony Hawk Foundation. Hawk invited a select group of professional skateboarders to donate their personally ridden skateboards and submit the name of their favorite songs. Harper then sent those boards on to the appropriate artists with one simple message: “Please write the lyrics to this skater’s favorite song on his skateboard, and we’ll use it to create more skateparks for kids.” . . .The skaters and artists who have collaborated include Bucky Lasek and Adam Yauch, Rodney Mullen and Ben Harper, Jamie Thomas and Bob Dylan, Mike Vallely and Tom Petty, Steve Caballero and Metallica, Bob Burnquist and Ben Harper, Lance Mountain and Jimmy Cliff, and Tony Hawk and Paul McCartney.

Jazz piano prodigy Austin Peralta, the son of Bones Brigade co-creator Stacy Peralta, has died according to a story in the LA Times. He turned 22 on October 25, 2012.
Flying Lotus, the beat producer and label head who released Peralta’s music, confirmed the news Thursday morning via Twitter, writing: “it kills me to type that we lost a member of our family, Austin Peralta. I don’t really have the right words right now.” Peralta’s cause of death has not been announced.
Peralta, who released two jazz albums by the time he was 16, was reportedly working on a new album on Brainfeeder. Our thoughts are with Peralta’s family and friends.
